A surprising leak suggests that Varka’s long-awaited debut in Genshin Impact might arrive much sooner than fans anticipated, hinting at a major update that could introduce a new map and fresh gameplay mechanics tied to Mondstadt’s famed captain.
The Genshin Impact players have been waiting for him to become playable for ages, and that time might be sooner than all of us expected. A new leak has revealed Varka’s release date in Genshin Impact, and it’s only a version away.
Genshin Impact Varka’s Release Date Leaked
Recent leaks suggest that Varka, the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, might arrive in Genshin Impact sooner than players anticipated. According to reliable sources, his debut is expected within the next major update, possibly accompanying a new region expansion. Fans have long awaited his appearance since his first mention early in the game’s storyline, and this leak has reignited excitement across the community. Early reports hint at unique gameplay mechanics and lore connections that could significantly expand Mondstadt’s narrative.
A new leak via HXG posted on Reddit reveals that Varka will be released in Genshin Impact Luna V (6.4). Previously, Varka was leaked for Luna VI, with Luna V being empty of any character leak. It seems Hoyoverse has decided to remove the filler version in between, and release Varka sooner than previously rumored. This might also mean that the other upcoming Nod-Krai characters, like Alice, Nicole, and Sandrone, may also be released earlier than their previously rumored dates. Keep your eyes on our Genshin Impact next and current banners guide to plan your next gacha pulls.
Other than that, the leak also reveals that Genshin Impact Luna V will add a new map, named Dornman Port. With previous leaks about Luna IV adding a new map, this would mean that Genshin Impact players are getting two new maps in two consecutive versions. However, the Luna IV map might be an extension of Liyue for the Lantern Rite event, which also means that the Luna V map will be an extension for Nod-Krai.
What is Varka’s kit and abilities
Varka is a 5-star Anemo Claymore user designed as an on-field DPS in Genshin Impact, wielding dual claymores and adapting damage based on party elements like Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo (referred to as PHEC in leaks). His kit emphasizes Normal Attacks, Swirl reactions, and ATK-scaling buffs for high damage output.
Normal Attack
Varka performs up to five consecutive dual-claymore strikes. His Charged Attack consumes stamina for a forward slash, while Plunging Attacks deal AoE damage on impact.
Elemental Skill
Tap Windbound Execution leaps forward, dealing AoE Anemo DMG and entering Stormward Charge mode, boosting Normal Attack DMG and infusing strikes with party member elements (cannot be overridden). Hold charges for a farther leap with scaled damage. In Stormward Charge with PHEC allies, it converts to Four Winds’ Ascension (limited uses, own cooldown), dealing dual Anemo and matching elemental DMG; uses can trigger stamina-free special Charged Attack Azure Devour.
Elemental Burst
Might of the North Wind unleashes a powerful two-slasher forward, dealing massive Anemo DMG; with PHEC allies, the first hit swaps to their element.
Passives and Talents
-
Gains Azure Fang’s Oath stacks (max 4, 7.5% DMG boost to attacks/skills/CA for 8s) per Swirl from allies.
-
PHEC ally grants 10% Anemo/elemental DMG bonus per 1000 ATK (cap 25%), with 140-220% multipliers for dual Anemo/PHEC setups.
-
Exploration passive reduces Skill CD by 5% per Mondstadt character; NA in Skill mode further cuts special Skill CD.
Constellations
C1 adds extra Four Winds’ Ascension use and 200% DMG on specials. C2 appends 800% ATK AoE Anemo DMG. C4 buffs party Anemo/elemental DMG by 20% on Swirl. C6 enables free special CA/Skill swaps post-usage and boosts CDMG per stack.
How does Varka’s Elemental Skill change with different party elements
Varka’s Elemental Skill, Windbound Execution, activates Stormward Charge mode after a leaping AoE Anemo slash, enhancing Normal Attacks with dual claymores: the left always deals Anemo DMG (uninfusable), while the right converts to Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo (PHEC) based on party presence.
PHEC Party Changes
Presence of Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo characters converts Windbound Execution into Four Winds’ Ascension (limited uses, own cooldown) during Stormward Charge. This special Skill deals dual AoE damage: Anemo plus the matching PHEC element from the right claymore, following priority (e.g., Pyro > Hydro if both present).
No PHEC Effects
Without PHEC allies, Stormward Charge boosts Normal Attack DMG but retains standard Anemo infusions without right-hand conversion or Four Winds’ Ascension access. Normal/Charged Attacks stay pure Anemo-focused.
Damage Scaling
PHEC setups amplify attacks (Azure Devour special Charged Attack included) by 140% with 2+ of one PHEC or 2+ Anemo; reaches 220% with both conditions. Per-1000 ATK, Varka gains up to 25% Anemo/PHEC DMG Bonus.
