The latest Minecraft Snapshot 25W44A shakes things up with the scorching new Parched biome, the mysterious Camel Husk mob, and several hidden tweaks that hint at Mojang’s next big update.
Today, Mojang has revealed two new Minecraft mobs – the Camel Husk and Parched – who will make survival in the desert a true challenge. Having said that, let’s check out all the new changes and bug fixes in Minecraft Snapshot 25W44A.
Minecraft Snapshot 25W44A Brings Parched – A Skeleton that Doesn’t Burn
Parched is a new skeleton variant introduced in Snapshot 25W44A, designed to thrive under the blazing sun. Unlike regular skeletons, it doesn’t burn during the day, making desert biomes far more dangerous. This mob wields a bow like its icy and fiery counterparts but has a dry, cracked appearance that fits its arid habitat. Players exploring dunes and mesas will need to stay alert, as Parched often roams in groups, adding a new challenge to daytime exploration.
The Parched is a new skeleton mob variant that will roam the deserts in Minecraft. These mobs have cracked bones, gray eyes, and look similar to a mummy. These mobs are the alternatives to the Stray mobs from the snowy biomes, or Bogged from the swamp biomes. The only difference is that Parched won’t burn in direct sunlight.

The Parched will avoid spawning in the caves, similar to the Husks, and they might appear riding on top of the Camel Husks. So, if you think countering Parched is going to be slightly more challenging than the normal skeletons, do note that they will shoot Arrows of Weakness. So, the fight can be held for longer durations.
Camel Husk is the New Mount of the Desert
The new Camel Husk stands as the hardy replacement for camels in the scorched biomes of Minecraft’s latest snapshot. Built to survive the intense heat and scarce resources of the Parched region, this creature offers both transport and storage for explorers wandering the dry expanse. Its rough texture and distinctive humps make it stand out against the cracked terrain, while its slower pace is balanced by greater stamina and resistance to damage from harsh conditions.
The Camel Husk is an undead variant of the regular camels in Minecraft that spawn in the desert biomes, but avoid the caves like the Husks. Since it’s an undead creature, it will spawn only during the night or at 0 light levels. However, unlike the zombie horses, the Camel Husk won’t burn under sunlight.
Moreover, the Camel Husks will always spawn with two riders, the Husk and the Parched. So, you can only imagine the perils of traversing the desert at night with such dangerous mobs. Although the Camel Husks can be dangerous when hostile mobs are riding them, defeating the riders will make them passive.
Lastly, other changes in this snapshot include the Lunge enchantment being fine-tuned. Lunge will now consume 1-3 hunger points and 1 durability point, depending on the level of enchantment.
How do you spawn a Camel Husk in creative mode
In Minecraft Snapshot 25w44a and later versions with the Mounts of Mayhem features enabled, spawn a Camel Husk in Creative mode using the spawn egg or commands. These methods bypass natural spawning requirements like deserts at night.
Spawn Egg Method
Access the Creative inventory and search for the “Camel Husk Spawn Egg,” typically found in the mob eggs section alongside other new mobs like Parched. Right-click on a solid block to spawn one directly-it often appears with its default jockey riders (Husk and Parched), which can be killed to make it passive.
Command Method
Open chat and enter /give @s camel_husk_spawn_egg to receive the egg, or use /summon minecraft:camel_husk ~ ~ ~ to spawn one instantly at your location. For a riderless version, add {Passengers:[]} to the command: /summon minecraft:camel_husk ~ ~ ~ {Passengers:[]}-this creates a tameable Camel Husk ready for saddling.
How to force spawn Camel Husk in survival mode
Camel Husks cannot be spawned with items or eggs in Survival mode, as they require specific natural conditions in desert biomes. Force spawning relies on manipulating hostile mob mechanics without cheats.
Natural Spawn Setup
Locate a large, flat desert area with open sky (no caves or overhangs) and ensure light level 0 at night or during thunderstorms. Clear all hostile mobs periodically by moving 128+ blocks away and returning to reset the mob cap, increasing chances since Camel Husks tie to a 10% Husk jockey replacement rate. Build a temporary 24+ block high pillar of scaffolding or sand to stand on-this despawns ground mobs below while keeping you safe and maximizing surface spawns.
AFK Farm Strategy
Create a dark platform (e.g., 9×9 sand with water channels) in the desert center to funnel Husks, then wait overnight from a high vantage (use F3 debug screen to confirm light 0). A 1.5-10% spawn rate per Husk attempt means persistence yields results; light torches elsewhere to block non-desired spawns. Once riders (Husk with spear, Parched) are defeated, the Camel Husk turns passive for saddling.
