Candy canes aren’t just decorations in 99 Nights in the Forest-they’re your ticket to rare rewards and limited-time gear. Here’s how to find and collect them before the Christmas event melts away.
How to Obtain Candy Canes in 99 Nights in the Forest
Help Santa’s Elves scattered around the forest by purchasing event tools such as the ladder, shovel, sled, and ice skates from the Santa Sack near the camp with Mossy Coins, then completing each elf’s request to earn Christmas gift boxes that contain Candy Canes and bonus loot. Decorate multiple Christmas trees with lights during each run to gain several extra Candy Canes per tree, and defeat the fake Santa and its turrets whenever possible for additional drops during the Christmas event.
You can obtain Candy Canes by helping Santa’s Elf, which can be used for Christmas Elf shop items. There are plenty of them scattered throughout the forest, and helping each of them requires completing a certain task. You can use the items from the Santa Sack, which is located near the Camp. Santa Sack features a total of four items that you can purchase using Mossy Coins. Here’s a list of the items:
| Item | Price (Mossy Coins) |
|---|---|
| Sled | 25 |
| Ice Skates | 20 |
| Ladder | 15 |
| Shovel | 20 |
You can get mossy coin stacks on buildings, structures, and scattered throughout the forest. You can even kill some cultists to get more mossy coins. Once you have all the items or any of them, find the elves and use the items to help them.
Before you start finding the elves, make sure to equip some of the best 99 Nights in the Forest class.
How to Find and Help Santa’s Elf
Not all the Santa’s Elves are visible on the map, so you need to search the entire forest to find them. Each elf is stuck somewhere and needs help. Here are some of the elves that we noticed and how you can help them.
- The first elf is idle on top of a tree near the camp. To help the elf, you need to purchase a ladder and climb up the tree. Interact with the elf, and it will come down using the ladder.
- The second elf is located on a frozen lake at the north-west side of the forest. Give him the Ice Skates that you purchased to help him.
- The third elf will be buried under the snow, near the southern cave of the lost child. Simply use a Shovel to lift the snow off the elf.
- Elf 4 can be found on an Ice Skating race track. He will ask you to cut the trees on the track and clear it.
Helping each Elf will give you a Christmas gift box. Opening the box will reward you with Candy Cane, alongside some rare weapons, bandages, and other items. You can find more elves across the forest similar to the above ones. Just make sure to keep your eyes wide open when exploring.
While playing the Christmas event, use 99 Nights in the Forest codes to get some free rewards.
Uses of Candy Canes in 99 Nights in the Forest
I will craft the short paragraph based on gathered information about uses of Candy Canes in the game.
You can use the Candy Canes to buy items from the Christmas Elf Shop in 99 Nights in the Forest. The shop consists of some of the best items you can purchase. This includes items to survive the nights better and even Santa’s Helper class. Use this to earn more Candy Canes in the game.
What items can I buy with Candy Canes in Elf Shop
In the Christmas Elf Shop you spend Candy Canes on a small set of limited-time cosmetic and utility items, mainly a helper class, furniture, and pet reskins.

Which Elf Shop items are limited time only
All items in the Christmas Elf Shop are treated as limited-time Christmas event items, meaning they are only available while the 99 Nights in the Forest Christmas event is active and the Elf Shop is open in the lobby.
Limited-time status
-
Santa’s Helper class, Santa’s Mailbox, Festive Couch, Christmas Bunny, and Christmas Wolf are all explicitly described in guides as event items that you buy with the special Candy Cane currency, which only exists during the Christmas event.
-
When the Christmas event and Candy Cane currency are removed, the Elf Shop disappears from the lobby, so you can no longer purchase any of these items; they then function as event-limited rewards that you keep permanently on your account once bought.
