A great way to find diamonds without going underground is to explore various loot structures, such as Jungle Pyramids, Shipwrecks, Desert Pyramids, and so on. Within them, you’ll find loot chests that have a small chance of containing diamonds.

However, these methods won’t fill your inventory with stacks of diamonds, and you need to stick to mining for such results. Below, we have discussed two of the best mining methods that will surely reward you with lots of diamonds in a short time.

1. Exploring Caves

If you’re at a beginner level with iron tools and gears, exploring the caves can be a great start at finding diamonds easily. There is usually at least a vein or two in the deep slate-level caves, and the bigger the cave system is, the more likely you are to stumble upon more diamond ore veins.

So, if you go inside a cave open to the surface of the Overworld, it’s less likely to contain diamond ore veins. Instead, keep mining underground until you find a cave that is surrounded by solid blocks on all sides. However, the veins you encounter will still have a maximum of 1-4 diamond ores.

Since the caves are wide open areas without any light sources, it becomes a perfect condition for hostile mobs to spawn. So, be prepared for a fight or two with zombies, skeletons, and spiders throughout this adventure.

Dig a primary 2-block-high, 1-block-wide main tunnel along one axis (east-west or north-south) at Y -58 or -53. Every 3 blocks along the main tunnel, create perpendicular 2-block-high branch tunnels extending until lava or a cave interrupts-typically 20-50 blocks long.
