Chasm and Mineshaft Access in Fisch with Merlin’s Veil Guide

Guides

A daring trek into Fisch’s chasm leads to a shimmering mineshaft, where every turn whispers of hidden loot and elusive secrets waiting to be claimed.

How to Enter Chasm and Find Mineshaft in Fisch

To enter the Chasm in Fisch, head toward the large fissure near the mountain base within Merlin’s Veil and interact with the glowing runes at the edge. After entering, use a torch or lantern to light your way, as the area is dark and filled with uneven paths. Follow the tunnel downward until you reach a wide cavern; from there, turn left toward the wooden supports marking the start of the mineshaft. Keep an eye out for ore veins and hidden chests along the route, as they contain useful materials and rare loot.

To enter the Chasm, you will need Merlin’s Veil. To get it, you must complete Merlin’s Quest in Fisch and give all colored shards to him. You must talk to Merlin to open the Rift. Every 30 minutes, you can open a Rift and enter it to find a shard. Then give it to Merlin.

After you give all the shards, talk to Merlin and select the “I need to enter The Chasm” option. Merlin will give you the ‘Merlin’s Veil’ buff that will let you enter the Chasm for five minutes. Now, go behind Merlin in the Ocean, and you will be able to enter the Chasm in Fisch. Use the GPS in Fisch and get to these coordinates: -855.8, 125.2, -971.1, to find the Chasm faster.

Remember, the veil is only available for 5 minutes. You will be able to track how much time is left from the countdown above your XP counter. After getting the veil once, you must wait 30 minutes to get it again. Once you are in the Mineshaft, you can stay there as long as you want.

Where to find each colored shard locations

It is not possible to give reliable shard locations for your question right now because access to the game guides and wikis that list the exact coordinates and spots for each colored shard is temporarily unavailable.

Without that, any answer would just be guessing, and the shard locations in Fisch are very specific and update-dependent, so inaccurate directions would likely waste your time.

For accurate, current locations of each shard color (for Merlin’s Veil in Fisch), the safest options are:

  • Checking a recent written guide that explicitly covers “all shard locations” for Fisch’s Chasm/Merlin quest (look for an article updated after the Chasm patch).

  • Watching a short, up-to-date video guide that shows the route to every shard on the current map version.

If you can share what platform or guide title you’re already looking at (for example, a specific article name or video name), a more tailored, step-by-step breakdown based on that source’s structure can be provided.

How to unlock Stone Wave Cliffs Paint Cage

To unlock the Stone Wave Cliffs Paint Cages in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, you must find each cage and shoot three hidden glowing locks in the surrounding area; once all three locks are destroyed, the cage opens and you can claim its reward. Stone Wave Cliffs has two main Paint Cages (plus an extra one later in Stone Wave Cliffs Cave), each with its own three locks to hit.

How Paint Cages Work

  • Every Paint Cage is sealed by three glowing “locks” placed on cliffs, rocks, wood, or structures nearby; these must be shot from range.

  • After all three locks linked to a cage are broken, the cage springs open and grants a reward such as a weapon (Delaram, Duenum) or a shard/pictos.

Stone Wave Cliffs – Paint Cage 1 (Near Entrance)

  • This cage is close to the Entrance checkpoint; move forward from the flag, stay to the right side, and climb a rope up to a clearing with the cage in the center.

  • One lock is directly behind the cage between rocks/structures, another is high on a nearby cliff or floating debris when you climb up, and the last is higher again reachable by taking the rope and looking around from that vantage point.

Stone Wave Cliffs – Paint Cage 2 (Old Farm Area)

  • Progress the level until you reach a clearing labeled The Old Farm; as you walk downhill into it, take the side path leading to the cage.

  • From the cage: one lock is off to the right near a skinny tree, another is on a small cliff to the left, and the third is on wood/planks along the approach trail that you likely walked past on the way in.

Stone Wave Cliffs Cave – Extra Paint Cage

  • A later Paint Cage is inside Stone Wave Cliffs Cave, accessible from the Entrance flag by following the path, grappling, crossing a bridge, and crawling thr
