This adrenaline-rushing experience can be a fun way to spend time with friends and get a lot of rewards. In this guide, learn how to unlock the 99 Nights in the Forest Haunted Maze, how to clear it, and what rewards await on the other side.

How to Unlock the Haunted Maze in 99 Nights in the Forest

To access the Haunted Maze in 99 Nights in the Forest, players must first collect all three cursed lanterns scattered across the outskirts of the main campsite. Each lantern appears only after dusk and emits a faint red glow near hidden shrines. Once all lanterns are gathered, approach the old stone gate behind the Withered Tree to trigger a short cutscene. The maze entrance will then appear through the gate, leading into a dim passage filled with spectral traps and timed puzzles that set the tone for the challenge ahead.

The Haunted Maze can be found at a random place in the forest, beside the Carnival Games. The exact location of it is unknown, and you cannot spot it on the map. Even if you reach the Carnival Games, the gate of the Haunted Maze will be locked.

The Haunted Maze will be unlocked once you have collected three Carnival Tickets. You can find the Carnival Games on Day 1, but they can be accessed after reaching Day 3.

How to Get Carnival Tickets in 99 Nights in the Forest

Carnival Tickets appear randomly throughout the Haunted Maze, usually near glowing lanterns or behind broken carnival stalls. Players can collect them by walking over the tickets, which add directly to their inventory. Tickets sometimes respawn after a short delay, making it worthwhile to revisit key spots during gameplay. They serve as a currency for accessing special areas or trading with NPCs hidden inside the maze, so gathering as many as possible can greatly enhance your progress.

Playing all three Carnival Games and completing each of them is the only way to obtain Carnival Tickets. Ring Toss, Basketball, and Shooting are the Carnival Games that you can play.

You’ll need to get three points in Ring Toss and Basketball to get tickets. The point requirement is five for Shooting, and getting so will get you the final Carnival Ticket. Now that you have all three Carnival Tickets, the Haunted Maze gate will be unlocked.

How to Get Through the Haunted Maze in 99 Nights in the Forest

Move carefully through the Haunted Maze by memorizing the path of glowing symbols on the walls, as they mark the correct route toward each exit. Avoid branching corridors that lead to sudden traps or looping passages. Keep your lantern charged to reveal hidden doors, and listen closely for whispers that warn of nearby spirits. If the lights begin to flicker, stay still until the ghostly presence fades before continuing deeper through the fog.

After unlocking the Haunted Maze in 99 Nights in the Forest, your next destination will be reaching the middle of it. Walk towards the entrance of the Haunted Maze to go inside it. Make sure that you stock up on Bandages and weapons before entering the Maze, as Wolves and Alpha Wolves are waiting for you at the end.

Bring some food and stews, as you’ll be spending a lot of time collecting loot from chests, which might result in the depletion of the hunger bar. We also recommend entering the Maze during the daytime to avoid the Deer.

After entering the Haunted Maze, stick to your right-hand wall, and it will lead you to the end of it. You can also follow the red arrows on the walls, but most of them are deceptive. The blind ends of the Maze have Chests, which you can loot for 4-6 Candies.

There is also a Costume booth, where you can choose your Halloween Costume. You’ll also see a lot of signs (Deer, Owl, Bear, etc) imprinted on the wall, but they won’t appear inside the Maze, except the Deer at night.

Kill any Wolf you see on your way, or run and avoid them. There will be an Alpha Wolf in the middle of the Haunted Maze, beside a coffin. Kill it so that you can safely collect the rewards. Press and hold E to open the coffin, and claim your free weapon. We have received a Scythe and a Bouncing Blade on our runs. After claiming the reward, you can exit the Haunted Maze by interacting with the wooden hatch behind the coffin.

Best class and loadout for the Haunted Maze

Cyborg stands out as the top class for the Haunted Maze due to its versatility in close-quarters combat and sustained fights against maze enemies like Wolves and Alpha Wolves. Its lifesteal on melee attacks and faster night sprinting help maintain health and speed through tight paths. Pair it with high-damage melee for quick clears.

  • Primary Weapon: Laser Cannon or Morningstar-both offer strong area control and infinite ammo options for non-stop enemy waves.

  • Armor: Alien Armor or Iron Armor to boost defense against ambushes; prioritize overheating management for Cyborg synergy.

  • Consumables: Bandages, food for stamina, and any poison items; extra sack space from Scavenger perks aids loot carry if hybridizing classes.

Top Class Alternatives

  • Assassin: Second-best for speedruns; 10% faster sprinting navigates turns quickly, with kunai drops for ranged pokes.

  • Poison Master: Applies stronger DoTs to groups, ideal for kiting Deer or Owls; pairs with Flamethrower for crowd control.
Avoid low-mobility classes like Fisherman; focus on perks unlocked to level 2-3 beforehand for maze efficiency. Play co-op to cover flanks.

Which class is easiest for solo Haunted Maze runs

Cyborg remains the easiest class for solo Haunted Maze runs due to its lifesteal on melee hits, which sustains health during prolonged enemy fights without relying on teammates. Its faster night sprinting aids quick navigation through tight, dark paths while evading Wolves, Deer, or Owls.

Why Cyborg Excels Solo

Self-healing via lifesteal reduces bandage dependency, and built-in perks handle stamina drain from constant sprinting. Pair with maze rewards like Morningstar for crowd control, ensuring consistent clears even on first attempts.

Loadout Essentials

  • Weapon: Morningstar or Scythe for high melee damage and spin attacks against groups.

  • Armor: Iron or Alien for defense; stock food and bandages as backup.

  • Perks: Level Cyborg to 2+ beforehand for max lifesteal efficiency.

Solid Alternatives

  • Assassin: Easiest for pure speed-10% sprint boost skips most fights via kiting.

  • Poison Master: DoT effects melt tougher foes like Alpha Wolves passively.
Steer clear of low-mobility classes; stockpile resources pre-entry for reliability.
