Springfield has landed in Fortnite, and the result is chaos of cosmic proportions. The Simpsons’ iconic humor collides with UFOs, laser battles, and a dimension-hopping twist that even Homer didn’t see coming. Here’s how Epic Games turned a cartoon crossover into a galactic showdown you’ll want to replay again and again.
While it took players a while to get in when the event playlist went live (thanks to Matchmaking Errors), the event began after an in-game countdown of 1 minute 30 seconds as Kang and Kodos beamed up players in the pre-event lobby. Now if you missed anything of what I’m talking about here, we’ve got the full recap for you right here.
What Happened in Fortnite Simpsons Live Event Today?
Springfield crashed into Fortnite Island today as Homer accidentally triggered a cosmic rift during his donut run, summoning Kang and Kodos in a chaotic twist. Players joined the Simpsons family in defending against the alien invasion, battling UFOs and firing plasma blasters while trying to protect the Simpsons’ house. The event ended with a surreal cliffhanger, as Bart grabbed one of the aliens’ gadgets and vanished through a glowing portal, hinting at the crossover’s next chapter.
Fortnite Twitter began with Hope and Jonesy landing on the dimensional portal with Jonesy’s Rift Gun as they planned to open a new reality and lock the tentacled demon behind it. As Jonesy opened a portal and locked the demon, it re-opened that portal and walked right through it and slammed players with its tentacle.

The event also featured an animated The Simpsons short where Homer possesses the Zero Point shard and changes reality around Springfield 😂

Then a cutscene began where players found themselves in an animated realm with The Simpsons graphic style as Hope and Jonesy fought the demon. Kang and Kodos flew above the demon to fight alongside it to defeat humans. However, Hope and Jonesy got beamed up in their flying saucer and fought both the aliens.
Suddenly, Hope noticed the Zero Point Shard embedded in the demon’s chest and pulled it via the UFO’s tractor beam. As soon as she pulled a single shard, the demon threw them into a dimensional portal from where Hope, Jonesy, Kang, and Kodos accidentally landed on an island which was a mix of Fortnite’s looped island and Springfield.
Then, the official gameplay trailer for the new season played, showing the brand new island, weapons, Battle Pass skins, and all your favorite Simpsons characters running around. Once the trailer ended, an animated short played where Homer accidentally got in possession of the Zero Point shard and attached it to his television remote, which turned it into an item that could change reality or objects around him.
Homer, being the accidental dad he is, changed things around his house and Springfield to his liking, including pretzels that walk right into your mouth when you open it. However, Jonesy and Hope are also looking for that shard as Homer hides it in his possession. The rest of the story shown in the live event will be continued in animated shorts in-game each week as the season goes on.
