Fortnite Valentine’s Day Event Skins Update v39 Server Details February

Guides

Fortnite’s Valentine’s Day brings a pulse-quickening lineup of limited skins, new challenges, and secret drops that make you rethink love in the arena.

Thankfully, Epic has provided players with a small insight as to what players can expect from this year’s Valentine’s Day event. Here’s everything we know about it so far.

When Does the Fortnite Valentine’s Day Event Start?

Epic Games is set to launch Fortnite’s Valentine’s Day event on February 14, 2026, at 2 PM ET, right after the weekly update rolls out. Players can expect themed quests, exclusive rewards, and limited-time cosmetic skins tied to the celebration. The event will run for a limited duration, giving fans a short window to complete challenges and collect festive items before they leave the rotation.

The Fortnite Valentine’s Day event will kick off on February 5, 2026, with the release of the next Fortnite update, v39.40. While Valentine’s Day itself is on February 14, Epic traditionally kicks off the festivities early to give players time to grind through the challenges and earn all Valentine’s Day-themed cosmetics. The event is expected to run for approximately 10-14 days, concluding shortly after Valentine’s Day itself.

Fortnite Valentine’s Day Event Skins and Collaborations

Fortnite’s Valentine’s Day event features heart-themed skins like Cupid versions of popular characters, complete with rosy outfits and arrow accessories. Epic Games partners with brands for limited-time cosmetics, such as romantic collabs with Barbie or Sanrio’s Hello Kitty in love-struck designs. Players grab these exclusives through the item shop or event quests, adding flirty flair to Battle Royale matches. Past events included duo skins for couples and pink-tinted wraps, hinting at similar surprises this year.

No Fortnite event is complete without new skins. Much like every year, Epic Games will not be holding out on the skins for the Fortnite Valentine’s Day event, bringing in original skins as well as exciting new (and familiar) collabs.

Valentine’s Day Original Skin

Starting with an original skin, Epic recently posted a teaser featuring what will be this year’s Valentine’s lead. While the skin doesn’t have a name yet, it features a pink-haired aesthetic, similar to a skin that appeared in recent surveys. You can expect her to release in the Fortnite Item Shop between February 10 and February 14 for around 1,200 V-Bucks.

Marvel Rivals Wave 2

Recent leaks from reliable Twitter have hinted at Epic revisiting the Fortnite Marvel Rivals crossover for this year’s Valentine’s Day. Wave 2 of the Marvel Rivals collaboration will introduce new skins for Luna Snow and Magik, two of the most popular Marvel Rivals characters. The designs for the skins are expected to be direct translations of their looks from the Marvel Rivals roster, with Magik’s Soulsword also making a possible appearance as a back bling, pickaxe, or both.

Chappell Roan

Fortnite really is preparing to wear pink this Valentine’s Day, as Twitter suggest Chappell Roan is slated to be the next Fortnite Festival artist. This was already hinted at through leaks in the Fortnite 39.30 update, and the collaboration will feature two different outfits for Chappell Roan, much like every other Festival artist. One of these outfits is expected to be inspired by her medieval-themed VMA performance, while the other will feature her signature “Pink Pony” look.

Fortnite Valentine’s Day Event Gameplay Changes & Rewards

The Valentine’s Day event in Fortnite brings themed challenges, limited-time gameplay modes, and exclusive cosmetic rewards. Players can earn heart-themed back blings, wraps, and emotes by completing event quests or competing in special playlists. Epic Games has also introduced new interactive features on the map, including decorated points of interest and dynamic color effects that match the festive theme. Competitive modes may offer additional rewards such as tournament-exclusive sprays or banners, making the event engaging for both casual and ranked players.

The Valentine’s Day event will not be limited to just cosmetics, as players can also expect minor yet iconic gameplay changes with this new update. This includes the return of Cupid’s Crossbow, a staple of every Valentine’s Day event, to the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 loot pool.

We all know that Cupid’s Crossbow is largely one of the most underpowered weapons in the game and is unlikely to provide any significant gameplay advantage during a match. However, the weapon is less about its functionality and more about its aesthetics. If you really want to challenge yourself, you could try getting a Fortnite Victory Royale by using just the Crossbow (we won’t judge if you fail).

Apart from the Crossbow, players can also expect Valentine’s Day quests that reward XP and other cosmetics like a seasonal Wrap and a group emote to really go with the theme of love during the event. Additionally, players can also expect minor map changes, such as heart-themed decorations to show up around the Chapter 7 Season 1 map.

How to complete Love and Legends event quests

You can finish the Love and Legends event quests by combining daily logins with Candy Hearts collection in team modes.

Core quest types

  • Daily login quests: Log into Fortnite on different days between around 6-19 February to earn free account levels and, after enough days, the Sweetest Shot loading screen.

  • Candy Hearts quests: Collect Candy Hearts while playing Duo, Trio, or Squad matches to earn XP and the Heartie back bling once you hit the required total.

Step-by-step: what to do each day

  1. Log in once per day during the event window so you don’t miss any of the login milestones that grant levels and the Sweetest Shot loading screen.

  2. Queue into Duo, Trio, or Squad matches (Battle Royale, Zero Build, OG, or Blitz all count) so Candy Hearts can spawn and be collected.

  3. Land at high-loot POIs (lots of chests and floor loot) and prioritize opening chests; Hearts frequently drop alongside normal items.

  4. Stick with your team, rotate quickly using vehicles or mobility items, and sweep multiple POIs per match to maximize the number of Hearts you pick up.

  5. Repeat across several games: you’ll naturally complete the Candy Heart thresholds (50, 100, 150, 200, etc.) that award 12,000, 10,000, 8,000, and 6,000 XP respectively and progress toward Heartie.

Tips to speed it up

  • Play team modes instead of solos so your squad can open more chests and everyone can grab Hearts.

  • Aim for busy landing spots with many chests (named locations, event-decorated areas), then rotate toward remaining circles and supply drops, which tend to have higher Heart drop chances.

  • Spread the grind out: complete a few Candy Heart quests per day rather than trying to finish everything in one long session, since some rewards are time-gated by the calendar anyway.

If you tell me whether you prefer regular Battle Royale or Zero Build, I can give you a specific landing route and loadout style to farm Candy Hearts even faster.
