Dead Rails has four Takeover quests: survive one night, travel 10 km, defeat 15 zombies with a shovel, and complete the game. All four can be cleared in a single long run if you plan ahead.

Quest goals in Dead Rails

Noob: Survive 1 night.
Pro: Travel 10 km total in one run.
Master: Use a shovel to defeat 15 zombies.
Extreme: Finish the game (reach the end/gates).

General strategy

Play in a coordinated group so others can help clear hordes while you focus on staying alive and moving to stack distance for the 10 km requirement.
Aim to do all four quests in a single full run, since a typical completion can take multiple hours and you do not want to repeat that often.

Survive 1 night & travel 10 km

For surviving the first night, camp at or near an outpost where soldiers/NPCs help kill zombies; avoid unnecessary fights and focus on not getting cornered.
