HoYoverse has confirmed Nefer’s release date through the latest Luna II drip marketing, sparking excitement across the Genshin Impact community. The mysterious Dendro wielder from the desert nation is set to bring fresh energy to the new region’s storyline and meta shake-ups.

Hoyoverse today shared Nefer’s drip marketing, confirming that she will become playable in Genshin Impact Luna II. That said, here is everything you need to know about Nefer, along with her element, weapon, and release date, based on the marketing material.

Genshin Impact Nefer Release Date Revealed

Hoyoverse has officially confirmed that Nefer, the new Dendro character from Sumeru, will debut in the Genshin Impact Luna II update. The announcement came through the latest drip marketing campaign, revealing Nefer’s elegant design and nature-infused abilities. Players can expect her banner to arrive in the next update cycle, alongside new story content and limited-time events tied to the Luna II theme.

Hoyoverse has shared Nefer’s drip marketing, confirming her arrival in Genshin Impact Luna II. She will be a 5-star character of the Dendro element and has been rumored to be a Bow user.

Nefer is the head of the Curatorium of Secrets, an organization that receives investigation requests for various troubles, similar to the Adventurer’s Guild.

Interestingly, Nefer’s drip marketing includes a quotation from Lauma, which mentions that “Nod-Krai is enough for every snake to find a place that it can truly call its own.” This may hint at Nefer’s true nature. There are rumors and speculations that Nefer is actually the Dendro Dragon Apep, who has found her home in the Nod-Krai region. Nefer’s design also seems to reflect this thought, as her character design does appear straight out of Sumeru.

But that is something we have to put a pin on until the release of Genshin Impact Luna II. Nod-Krai has started strong, and it is only expected to get better from here on.

Nefer kit and abilities details

Nefer is a 5-star Dendro Catalyst character whose kit revolves around the Lunar-Bloom reaction, using a unique resource system (Verdant Dew, Moonsign, and Veils of Falsehood) to boost her Normal and Charged Attacks in a state called Shadow Dance.

Normal & Charged Attacks

  • Normal Attack: Striking Serpent

    • Performs up to 4 kicks that deal Dendro damage.

    • In Shadow Dance state, Normal Attacks generate Verdant Dew stacks and enable her enhanced Charged Attack.

  • Charged Attack: Slither

    • Holding the attack button puts Nefer into the Slither state, where she rapidly moves forward while consuming Stamina for up to 2.5 seconds.

    • When Slither ends (button released, duration ends, or Stamina runs out), she unleashes a Dendro Charged Attack on nearby enemies.

  • Phantasm Performance (Enhanced Charged Attack)

    • In Shadow Dance, if she has at least 1 Verdant Dew, holding the attack button instead performs Phantasm Performance.

    • This summons a shade of Nefer that deals Lunar-Bloom damage via Coordinated Attacks and consumes Verdant Dew.

Elemental Skill: Senet Strategy: Dance of a Thousand Nights

  • Press/Quick Press

    • Nefer enters the Shadow Dance state, enhancing her Normal and Charged Attacks.

    • In Shadow Dance, Phantasm Performance becomes available, and her Normal Attacks generate Verdant Dew.

  • Hold Effect

    • Holding the skill button consumes Stamina to move forward quickly (similar to Slither), then ends with a Dendro Charged Attack on nearby enemies.

    • In Shadow Dance, the Stamina consumption is reduced.

  • Moonsign & Core Conversion

    • With the Ascendant Gleam Moonsign effect, using her Elemental Skill transforms nearby Dendro Cores and Bountiful Cores into Seeds of Deceit.

    • These Seeds can be absorbed by Nefer to gain stacks of Veils of Falsehood, which scale her Elemental Burst damage.

  • Cooldown

    • The skill has 2 charges with a ~9-second cooldown per charge, allowing her to use it twice per typical rotation.

Elemental Burst: Revelation of the Mysteries of the False

  • AoE Dendro Damage

    • Deals strong AoE Dendro damage to enemies around her.

  • Heal & Veil Conversion

    • Also restores HP to all nearby party members based on Nefer’s ATK stat.

    • She consumes all current Veils of Falsehood stacks, and her Elemental Burst damage is increased based on the number consumed.

  • Veil of Falsehood Buff

    • Gaining 3 stacks (or refreshing the 3rd stack) increases her Elemental Mastery by 100 for 8 seconds.

    • At higher constellations, this buffs (e.g., 5 stacks β†’ +200 EM), and Phantasm Performance damage is also increased.

Passive Talents & Key Mechanics

  • Normal Attack: Verdant Dew Generation

    • In Shadow Dance, Nefer’s Normal Attacks generate Verdant Dew stacks, which fuel

Best team comps for Nefer

Nefer is a Lunar-Bloom hypercarry whose best teams revolve around the new Lunar-Bloom reaction, ideally with Lauma and Nod-Krai characters. Her highest DPS requires Lauma, but strong F2P and alternate teams exist without her.

Best Lunar-Bloom Teams (Premium)

These teams maximize Nefer’s damage by stacking EM, applying Hydro/Dendro, and using Ascendant Gleam to turn cores into seeds for Nefer to consume.

1. Nefer + Lauma + Nahida + Aino (Top DPS)

  • Function:

    • Lauma: Primary Hydro support, applies Dendro and Hydro to trigger Lunar-Bloom, buffs its damage and CRIT.

    • Nahida: Applies Dendro via Bursts, buffs EM and Dendro RES Shred with Deepwood Memories.

    • Aino: Sustain Hydro, buffs EM, and improves team flexibility in overworld.

  • When Lauma is C1 or above, she can also provide some healing so the team can run without a dedicated healer.

2. Nefer + Lauma + Furina + Ineffa (Max Damage)

  • Function:

    • Lauma: Lunar-Bloom driver and Dendro RES Shred.

    • Furina: Universal DMG%, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG buffs.

    • Ineffa: Provides extra “Lunar-element” buffs and further enhances Lunar-Bloom damage.

  • This is the absolute highest-damage team for Nefer but is quite expensive in terms of characters and constellations.

3. Nefer + Lauma + Furina + Baizhu (Max Damage + Healing)

  • Function:

    • Lauma: Same as above – Dendro/Hydro and Lunar-Bloom amplifier.

    • Furina: Main DMG buff.

    • Baizhu: Sustained healing, Dendro application, and AoE damage.

  • Great for high-end content where team survivability is important.

Comfort & Sustain Teams (High-End)

These teams keep Nefer’s damage high while adding shields or strong healing for comfort.

1. Nefer + Lauma + Nahida + Zhongli (Shielded)

  • Function:

    • Lauma: Main Hydro support and Lunar-Bloom damage enabler.

    • Nahida: EM buff and Dendro RES Shred.

    • Zhongli: Unbreakable shield and 20% elemental RES Shred.

  • Ideal for high-pressure bosses or Abyss, where Nefer’s on-field time is safer.

2. Nefer + Lauma + Nahida + Kuki Shinobu

  • Function:

    • Lauma & Nahida: Same as the premium team.

    • Shinobu: Strong healing, Electro application (minor for Hyperbloom if needed), and some off-field Dendro.

  • A good middle ground between damage and survivability.

Strong Teams Without Lauma

If Lauma is missing, Nefer still works well in standard Hyperbloom or F2P teams, th
