How to Find the Sigurd Local Legend in Genshin Impact
Sigurd can be found in the deep caverns of the Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering Region. Players should head to the marked area south of the Institute waypoint, where a quest marker usually appears after completing the prerequisite world quest. Inside the mechanical arena, activating the devices around the chamber will trigger the appearance of Sigurd. Make sure to prepare for combat before entering, as the encounter begins immediately once the mechanism is engaged.
Sigurd can be found on the western coastline of Barrowmoss Barrens. However, you will first have to unlock him by completing The Bell of Mourning Echoes quest. Sigurd is a legendary Light Keeper whose incredible willpower manifests from time to time in fights against the Wild Hunt. However, this has also caused Sigurd’s soul to become corrupted, making him truly a terrifying foe in Nod-Krai.
Once you complete the aforementioned quest, you will be able to summon Sigurd next to his grave and fight him as a Local Legend in Genshin Impact. Now, defeat him to mark him in the Valiant Chronicles of Nod-Krai.
How to Defeat Sigurd in Genshin Impact
Sigurd unleashes powerful melee combos and elemental bursts during the fight, so dodge sideways to avoid them and strike during recovery frames. Target its weak spots on the limbs when they glow, breaking the shield for massive damage windows. Use a shield character to block unblockable slams, and swap to pyro or electro for resonance against its hydro attacks. Keep moving to evade ground pounds that spawn waves, and interrupt charges with well-timed bursts. Repeat until its health drops.
Sigurd Movesets
- Demonbane Strike: A strong AoE attack that can one-shot your active character if they don’t have a large health pool. Whenever you see a large purple circle forming underneath, dash out of it immediately. If you don’t want to avoid the attack, use shields or characters with a larger health pool.
- Summons Wilderness Exiles: In Sigurd’s second phase, he will summon multiple Wild Hunt enemies in the battle. Whenever they appear, you have to quickly defeat them to avoid getting overwhelmed. Keeping them alive allows Sigurd to quickly charge his Demonbane Strike.
- Health Bar Mitigation: Similar to other Wild Hunt enemies, bringing Sigurd’s HP to zero isn’t enough to defeat him. Doing this will cause his health bar to shorten permanently as he regains his remaining health. You’ll have to continuously bring his health to zero and deplete his maximum health pool completely. Furthermore, Sigurd enters his second phase after his health hits zero for the first time in the fight.
Beat Sigurd in Genshin Impact
Defeating Sigurd is fairly challenging in Genshin Impact. This enemy is particularly tanky, deals a ton of damage, and summons allies on top of it. From my frequent tests, I have found that Electro-teams does more damage to Sigurd. So, Electro-charged, lunar-charged, overload teams would do well against Sigurd.
Moreover, Vape and Reverse Vape teams also fared pretty well against this Local Legend. However, one team that failed to make much impact was Bloom and its related reactions during my tests.
The plan to defeat Sigurd is simple: continue dealing damage, but also prepare to avoid his Demonbane Strike attack. Other than that, try to defeat the summoned enemies as quickly as possible.
Best Teams for Sigurd in Genshin Impact
Sigurd pairs best with teams that apply Cryo and Dendro for Freeze or Burning reactions to counter his ice and fire phases. Pair him with Furina and Escoffier for consistent Freeze uptime, using Shenhe’s bursts to boost Cryo damage during shield breaks. For Dendro options, Nahida and Alhaitham spread Burning while Sigurd’s melee attacks trigger extra Dendro cores. Kazuha or Sucrose swirls elements to cleanse his frostbite debuff and group enemies efficiently.
1. Ineffa-Kazuha Lunar Charged
Currently, Ineffa‘s Lunar Charged team is the best for defeating Sigurd in the Nod-Krai region. However, I had to slightly tweak her team for the best results. The team that worked against Sigurd was replacing Tartaglia with Kaedehara Kazuha, while using Kokomi to apply Hydro and use her as the main DPS. This allowed crowd control and swirl damage, giving me more control in the second phase of Sigurd.

2. Arlecchino Vape team
Another team that worked wonders against the Sigurd boss is Arlecchino’s Vape team. This team uses Yelan to apply Hydro, Kazuha to crowd control, and Zhongli as a shielder. Zhongli can help you block Sigurd’s Demonbane Strike ability, while increasing interruption resistance for Arlecchino.

3. Flins Lunar Charged
Once Flins is released, you can use him in the same team instead of Kazuha. This is the best Lunar Charged team in Genshin Impact, but unfortunately, Flins will be released in the second half of the update.

General Tips
Prioritize shielders for Electro resistance and strong on-field DPS to minimize exposure to Demonsbane Strike. Anemo Traveler enables the water drown skip solo.
Which enemies or phases make Sigurd hardest to beat
