The main event of the Kitchen Storm is… drumrolls… yes, you guessed it right, it is the Kitchen Storm event. Players will be able to complete the point meter at the Chris P NPC to summon the event. During the event, cooking speed will be 2x while crops are getting a new Aromatic mutation. Moreover, players will be able to get mutations on the food items after cooking mutated fruits. The Rat Connoisseur NPC will give random rewards based on the mutations available on the food item.
The rewards include new seed packs and eggs that will add more cooking fruits and pets to the game. So, if you want to have more cooking fun, the kitchen will be catching a storm. However, before the storm arrives, another guest appearance is happening during the admin events.
What are the new recipes and seeds in Kitchen Storm
New Seeds
The Kitchen Storm update added seven new seeds obtainable by delivering mutated dishes to the Rat Connoisseur NPC or through the Culinarian Chest. Direct rewards from the Rat include Butternut Squash (31,600 value), Pricklefruit (21,500), Bitter Melon (55,000), and Spring Onion. Culinarian Chest seeds are King Cabbage (83,000), Rhubarb, and Badlands Pepper.
New Recipes
The update introduced five new recipe categories: Smoothie, Candy Apple, Sweet Tea, Porridge, and Jandel Salad. Examples include Smoothie (Lilac + Pear + Tomato), Pie (Mango + Tomato or 2x Blood Banana + 2x Tomato), Ice Cream (Tomato + 4x Bone Blossom), Donut (2x Giant Pinecone + 2x Bone Blossom + Bell Pepper), Pizza (2x Tomato + Corn), and Sushi (2x Giant Pinecone + Tomato + Corn). These require mutated plants for top rewards during the event.

To get the Butternut Squash seed from the Rat Connoisseur in Grow a Garden’s Kitchen Storm update, cook mutated meals using mutated plants at the central cooking pot. Offer these eligible mutated dishes to the Rat Connoisseur NPC (located near the center island, left of the cooking pot and beside Chris P.).

Additional Notes
This multi-harvest seed (average sell value around 31,600-35,000 Sheckles) was event-limited to August 2025, so it’s no longer obtainable post-event without trading or existing stock. Pets like Red Fox won’t duplicate event seeds.
