Grow a Garden Roblox Corrupt Mutation Guide and Multiplier Tips

Guides

In Grow a Garden, the Corrupt Mutation twists ordinary plants into twisted masterpieces-here’s how to trigger it.

How to Get the Corrupt Mutation in Grow a Garden

To get the Corrupt mutation in Grow a Garden, wait for the Corrupted Aura variant of the hourly Zen event, where red orbs instead of blue shoot from the central shrine toward your plot and infuse any crops they touch with the Corrupt effect, shown by red lightning-like particles and a dark red tint on the plant. You can speed this up by clustering high-value crops near the side of your garden facing the event hub so more of the incoming red orbs hit them during the short weather window.

There are a few ways to get the Corrupt mutation in Grow a Garden, including the newly introduced Corrupted Aura weather event and a few pets. So, here are the best ways to get the Corrupt mutation in the game:

1. Corrupted Aura Event

The Corrupt mutation can be obtained during the Corrupted Aura weather event in Grow a Garden. This event takes place every hour and lasts for 10 minutes. So, buckle up with the best plants in your garden to get this mutation on most of your plants.

2. Grow Corrupt Tree

Hold a crop with Tranquil mutation and the required weight, and give it to the Corrupt Channeller NPC. This will grant you Corruption points and grow the corrupted tree. Every hour, the points and the tree will reset, transferring the points as Corrupt mutation to random fruits in your garden.

3. Corrupted Staff and Mutation Spray

From leveling up the corrupted tree, you will get random rewards, including the Corrupted staff and Corrupted mutation spray. The staff works similarly to the Star Caller staff. Which means, when the Corrupted Aura event runs, plants in its radius get the Corrupt mutation.

While the effects of the staff are random, you can get a guaranteed mutation on a specific plant with the Corrupt Mutation Spray. Equip it in hand and click on the crop of your choice to apply it.

4. Corrupt Pet Mutation

Like the Tranquil Pet Mutation Shard, there is now a Corrupted Pet Shard available in the Zen Shop. You can purchase the shard from the Zen shop using Chi points and use it on a pet to give them the Corrupt Pet mutation.

Those pets gain another passive ability to apply the Corrupt mutation on your garden’s harvests at regular intervals.

The Corrupt mutation gives your fruits a red thunderous aura and some particles surrounding it. You can easily find it through the distinguishable aura and red effects. The Corrupt mutation boosts the sale value of your fruits by 25 times, hence some easy cash farming when you’re done with the Corrupted event.

5. Corrupted Kodama

Another way to get the Corrupt mutation in the game is through the Corrupted Kodama pet. Players have a 4.35% chance of getting it from growing the Corrupted Tree. This Grow a Garden pet has a 4% chance to apply the Corrupt mutation on any Zen plant when harvesting.

Best Tips to Get Corrupt Mutation in Grow a Garden

Plant corrupted seeds near active weather events like thunderstorms to boost mutation odds. Stack multiple mutations on one plant using rare fertilizers before applying corruption. Trade with other players for high-chance corrupt seeds during limited-time events. Keep your garden at max size with diverse plants to trigger random corrupt spawns overnight. Check the mutation log every few hours and harvest immediately to preserve the effect.

The easy way to get the Corrupt mutation on your plants is to wait until the Corrupted Aura event arrives. Here are a few tips that can help you get this mutation on most of the plants in your plot.

  • Grow Corrupt Tree: Growing the corrupt tree increases your corruption points and resets every hour to give additional Corrupt mutation. So, if you are collecting Tranquil fruits, check if they match the weight requirement and use them on the corrupt tree.
  • Plant Variety of Plants: Before the Corrupted Aura event starts, I suggest you plant different tiers of plants in your garden. The Corrupted tree quest that gives you additional gears or the corruption points requires different weight plants. So, it will be important to have options.
  • Use the Corrupt Gears: As you complete the corrupt tree quest, you will receive the Corrupt staff and Corrupt Mutation spray. It is a win-win situation to gain plenty of Corrupt mutations. The staff works during the Corrupted Aura event, so make sure you have used it in your garden early.

Is the Corrupt Mutation Worth Getting?

The Corrupt Mutation can be a strong addition to your garden if you’re aiming for faster growth and unique plant appearances, but it comes with trade-offs. It often reduces stability and may cause unpredictable results in hybrid plants, so it’s better suited for experienced players who enjoy experimenting. If you’re focused on steady progress and consistent harvests, keeping your garden mutation-free might be the safer option.

In Grow a Garden, getting the Corrupt mutation is worth the grind. With a 20x sale value multiplier, it also helps you complete the Kitsune quest to balance the trees. Since there are multiple ways to get this mutation, you can collect as many as you want.

If we go by the selling value multiplier, Corrupt is similar to the Tranquil mutation. While collecting Corrupted fruits helps maintain balance, you’ll still need more Tranquil fruits. The more Tranquil fruit you have, the better your chances of converting them into corruption points, which then apply the mutation to plants in your garden.

Best crops to plant before Corrupted Aura appears

Plant Zen-type crops like Serenity seeds or other Zen variants before the Corrupted Aura event starts, as they have higher compatibility for receiving the Corrupt mutation from the event’s red orbs. Multi-harvest Zen fruits such as Sakura Bush or Lucky Bamboo are ideal for repeated exposure and harvesting during the 10-minute window.

Timing Preparation

Time your planting so crops are nearly ripe when the event timer (visible above the Zen Tree) hits zero, maximizing orb hits. Fill your garden densely with these in one area to concentrate the effect.

  • Serenity Zen seeds: Optimal for farming due to fast growth and high mutation yield during events.

  • Zen Bamboo or Lucky Bamboo: Legendary Zen plants with good weight for channeller quests post-mutation.

  • Multi-harvest options like Sakura Bush: Allow continuous harvesting with Kodama pets for extra Corrupt chances.

Boosting with Pets and Setup

Deploy Corrupted Kodama and regular Kodama pets beforehand for a 4-7% chance to apply Corrupt on harvest, stacking with Aura orbs. Avoid non-Zen crops like watermelons or tulips unless prepped for Tranquil first, as they convert less efficiently.

How to get Corrupted Kodama in Grow a Garden

Corrupted Kodama is a legendary pet in Roblox’s Grow a Garden, introduced in the July 2025 Corrupted Zen Event, with about a 4.35% drop chance from Corrupt Channeller quests.

How to Obtain

Give Tranquil-mutated crops matching the specific weights shown above the Corrupt Channeller NPC (in the orange circle at the map’s center), such as Tranquil Bamboo at 4kg, to earn Corruption points and rewards.
These quests build the Corrupt tree hourly; completing enough grants Corrupted Rewards chests with the pet chance-prep common Zen crops like Orange Tulip, Daffodil, Tomato, Blueberry, Corn, Strawberry, and Bamboo for Tranquil mutations first.
It’s limited-time and exclusive to this NPC, unlike regular Kodama from Kitsune Chests.

Pet Ability

Its Tree Spirit passive gives Zen-type fruits a 4-6.37% chance for the Corrupt mutation on harvest, boosting value by 20x and synergizing with Corrupted Aura events.
It has high hunger (22,000 food needed), so feed regularly to keep it active.

Tips for Farming

Stack multiple Corrupted Kodama (up to 4+) with regular Kodama for higher proc rates during events, and spam quests with alts or loaded plots for faster rolls.
Ideal for Zen crop gardens pre-Corrupted Aura, as it adds reliable mutation layers beyond orbs.
