Darkness falls on Dead Rails, and each night turns into a fight for survival. Whether you’re hiding from shadows or racing the clock, every move decides if you make it to dawn-or vanish along the tracks.
These will test your survival skills regarding how well you can prepare yourself and take on the enemies coming after you. Want to know what all they are so you can survive them? Keep on reading to learn about all Dead Rails night events and how to win them all.
List of All Night Events in Dead Rails
Each night in Dead Rails offers different threats, enemies, and objectives that test your ability to adapt and plan ahead. The list includes events such as “Signal Interference,” where communication systems go down, “Raiders’ Night,” featuring aggressive NPC attacks, and “Blinding Fog,” which limits vision and mobility. Some nights feature environmental hazards like collapsing tunnels or toxic leaks that force quick decisions. Keeping track of these events helps players prepare equipment, routes, and safe zones before darkness falls.
In Dead Rails, the train that takes you to Mexico has a clock on the left side of the control panel. If you notice closely, you’ll know that the sun rises at 5 AM and the day starts at 6 AM, leading to the despawning of any enemies that appeared during the night.
Furthermore, you’ll notice that although daylight stays till 9 PM, night ultimately falls from 10 PM, and enemies start spawning an hour later. As the night falls, any one of the following events will occur at random:
1. Cloudy Night
During a cloudy night, the moon is not visible, and clouds start covering the whole sky. During this time, your train will be flooded with fast zombies with low health. However, do note that they are large in numbers. If you don’t move to a safe place quickly, these zombies might soon outnumber your team and result in an unexpected death.
Taking on the enemies during this time is not really difficult if you are well covered from all sides. Placing the thin newspapers to create an obstruction can help to keep the zombies at bay. Alternatively, you can climb on top of the train and pick them off one by one using your best guns.
2. Full Moon Night
The Full Moon night is one of the rarest and most dangerous night events in Dead Rails. This is because this event spawns Werewolves. These are fast-moving creatures and can hit like a truck. Their attacks reduce over 50% of your HP when you aren’t wearing any armor.

Due to their huge health bars and strength, it can be really hard to deal with these creatures even when your team has good gear. As such, I recommend that once you spot their red glowing eyes, run like hell and don’t look back. However, if you must engage, grab a powerful weapon like a Shotgun or a Rifle and shoot them off.
3. Blood Moon Night
The Blood Moon night in Dead Rails is unique in itself since the whole sky turns to a beautiful shade of crimson. However, don’t get lost looking at the pretty moon since Vampires will start spawning out of nowhere.
Vampires are some of the most annoying monsters in Dead Rails that randomly appear near you. Moreover, there’s a slight chance that killing them will randomly make their bodies disappear, and no corpse will be left behind to claim or use for fuel.
The best way to tackle these is to safely keep your train running and reach the next checkpoint. Otherwise, the Vampires can spawn near your train, easily climb up, and eradicate your team.
4. Stormy Night
The Stormy Night can be easily identified by the characteristic greenish tint all around the sky. This one might seem the safest night to stay out in Dead Rails; however, beware of the lightning strikes. Although no enemies will spawn during this night, the lightning strikes have a slight chance of hitting you and completely reducing your health.
Surviving this night is relatively easier if you find a place with a roof above your head. It might seem tempting to go outside for loot or do your general tasks, but you must have equipped a copper rod or be of the Priest class. Both can provide you with immunity from Lightning Strikes.
Finally, this is the only night when you can reload the Electrocutioner Gun, which will help with the Nikola Tesla boss in the end.
How to Survive Any Night in Dead Rails
Master the basics to outlast every night in Dead Rails. Scout your train car for weak spots and barricade doors with crates or debris before darkness falls. Keep a sharp eye on tracks for incoming threats, and hoard ammo or fuel from derailed cars during lulls. Stick with a group to cover blind spots, signal each other with flares, and retreat to the engine room if swarmed. Adapt on the fly-nights throw curveballs, but solid prep turns chaos into routine wins.
The best way to survive any night in Dead Rails is to stay at the checkpoints that appear every 10,000 meters. This is because the automatic turrets will kill any enemies spawning during the night if they try to approach you inside this safe zone. However, you must note that the turrets have 75 bullets, which might be sufficient for a few hours rather than a single night.
Therefore, keep going towards the end, keep checking that you have sufficient fuel, upgrade the train’s barricade, and get enough ammo to last until the final safe zone.
Alternatively, if your fuel tank is empty, you can try heading inside a hut in an abandoned town and barricading it well enough not to let any monsters enter. This way, you can wait a night or two and gather up some corpses to help you reach the next safe zone.
Best weapons for each night event in Dead Rails
Dead Rails on Roblox recommends specific weapons for each night event to maximize survival against unique threats. Top choices prioritize range, damage output, and reload speed based on enemy types like zombies, runners, werewolves, and bosses. Pair them with classes like Survivalist for damage boosts or Priest for utility.
Stormy Night
Lightning Rods provide immunity, but equip the Electrocutioner Gun (recharge with Holy Water) for any zombies or threats indoors. Its high damage clears groups quickly while reloading during strikes.
Cloudy Night
Hordes of fast runner zombies demand crowd control from atop the train. Use the Rifle for precise headshots (one-shots zombies) or Shotgun for close-range sprays; stock ammo as runners swarm from all sides.
Full Moon Night
Werewolves require distance to avoid melee damage. The Rifle or Bolt-Action Rifle excels for 2-4 shot kills with headshots, while Blunderbuss one-shots up close if you’re skilled-keep the train at full speed.
Blood Moon Night
Vampires and werewolves mix demands sniping and fortification. Prioritize Elephant Rifle for armor penetration or Navy Revolver with damage classes for quick follow-ups; supplement with Molotovs for stuck groups.
Which weapons counter werewolves on Night 1 through Night 5
Dead Rails features Full Moon Nights where werewolves spawn, typically starting from Night 1 and continuing through Night 5 as runs progress, with intensity ramping up each night. No distinct werewolf spawns occur on Stormy or Cloudy Nights, but Full Moon threats demand ranged weapons for safe kills from atop the moving train. The Rifle family remains optimal across all nights due to headshot precision against their high health and speed.
Night 1 Werewolves
Early werewolves are slower and fewer. Use the Rifle for reliable 2-3 shot headshots from distance; pair with Survivalist class for damage boosts.
Night 2 Werewolves
Numbers increase slightly. Stick with Bolt-Action Rifle for faster follow-ups, or Shotgun if they close in-prioritize train speed.
Night 3 Werewolves
Mid-run aggression peaks. Elephant Rifle penetrates armor for one-shots; stock ammo and use high ground.
Night 4 Werewolves
Hordes demand crowd control. Navy Revolver with quick reloads or Blunderbuss for close sprays; molotovs for groups.
Night 5 Werewolves
Boss-level durability. Electrocutioner Gun (charged) or fully modded Rifle with headshots; fortify train with turrets first.
