Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 introduces powerful Medallions that grant special abilities to those daring enough to face their bosses. Each medallion carries its own secret and strength, hidden across new POIs guarded by fearsome opponents. Here’s where to find them, what powers they hold, and how to come out on top in every boss battle.
What Are Medallions in Fortnite?
Medallions in Fortnite are special items dropped by bosses during matches in Chapter 6 Season 1. Each medallion grants a unique power or buff, such as enhanced shields, faster movement, or improved weapon performance. Players who collect these medallions gain a major advantage in combat, though holding one also marks them on the map, making them visible targets to others. These items add an extra layer of risk and reward to boss battles and overall gameplay strategy.
Fortnite Medallions are special items that grant you powerful abilities without taking up inventory space. They’re carried by bosses, and getting your hands on one isn’t easy. If you’re still confused, consider them buffs granted by bosses.
However, what makes these new medallions particularly interesting is that carrying a medallion reveals your general location to other players on the map, marked by an orange or gold circle. As of now, there are two Fortnite Medallions, The Night Rose Medallion and The Wanderer Medallion.
The Night Rose Medallion
The Night Rose Medallion is guarded by Marigold at the Grand Glacier, offering stealth-oriented power that cloaks the player in shadow for a short duration. This ability allows silent repositioning and surprise attacks, ideal for close combat or retreat. Defeating Marigold not only grants the medallion but also high-tier loot, making this boss encounter both challenging and rewarding for those aiming to dominate late-game skirmishes.
This medallion offers an incredibly useful automatic weapon reload feature. To obtain the Night Rose Medallion, you’ll need to defeat Night Rose in a boss fight. The battle occurs at Demon’s Dojo, located on the far right side of the map.
First, you must enter Night Rose’s circle to start the fight. She won’t take any damage until the fight is active. While fighting her, you’ll also need to watch out for her ghostly companion, Night Rose’s Shade, which will try to distract you during the battle, but from our experience, they are quite easy to deal with.
After dealing enough damage to Night Rose, you’ll need to focus on shooting the glowing red eyes of her oni puppeteer’s floating head. This cycle repeats until you defeat her and claim the medallion and her special Night Rose Veiled Precision SMG.
The Night Rose Medallion works best when you’re planning to take multiple fights. The automatic reload helps most during close-range battles where reload timing matters most.
The Wanderer Medallion
The Wanderer Medallion drops from defeating the Wanderer boss at Masked Meadows. Players reach this POI in the southwest, where the boss patrols with a masked ally nearby. Eliminate both using cover from trees and rocks, then grab the medallion from the golden chest. It grants 15 Shield and speeds up movement by 5% outside the rift zone, with stacks up to 50 Shield and 15% speed at max.
This medallion grants you two incredible powers: infinite stamina and invisibility while sprinting. These abilities can completely change how you approach combat and moving around the map. To get this medallion, you will have to defeat Shogun X.
Initially, you’ll spot Shogun X roaming randomly around the island, marked by an oni mask icon on your map. However, defeating this early version only rewards you with a mythic weapon. The real challenge begins when the fourth storm circle appears. At this point, Shogun’s Arena will materialize into floating islands.
The final boss battle with Shogun X is quite hard – and that’s an understatement. It took us various tries to bring down Shogun X in Fortnite Chapter 6. He’ll drop both the Wanderer Medallion and his Fire Oni Mask upon defeat.
The Wanderer Medallion suits both aggressive and defensive plays. You can use the invisibility to escape fights or to position yourself better before engaging. The infinite stamina lets you maintain pressure on opponents or quickly rotate across the map.
Best loadouts to beat Night Rose boss fast
To beat Night Rose fast at Demon’s Dojo in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, prioritize high-DPS close-range weapons and exploit her fight phases: initial roaming SMG attacks, followed by Oni Mask puppet phases where you must shoot the glowing red eyes.
Recommended Loadouts
These setups focus on quick knock-downs, eye destruction, and sustained pressure while minimizing reload downtime.
| Loadout | Weapons | Why It Works | Strategy Tips |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shotgun Primary | Sovereign Shotgun (or Ranger), Night Rose Veiled Precision SMG (Mythic if available), Fire Oni Mask | High burst damage shreds her low first-phase HP; SMG handles mask projectiles; mask fireball one-shots eyes. | Knock her fast with shotgun headshots, then sprint center post-knock to spray eyes before mask activates-reload multiple guns beforehand. |
| SMG Aggro | Veiled Precision SMG (Mythic), Reaper Sniper (mid-range backup), Water Sprite | Constant DPS ignores her teleports; auto-reload medallion pairs perfectly if you grab it mid-fight; sprite shields counter mask blasts. | Stay mobile, peek windows to shoot eyes safely, heal between phases-repeat knock-eye-knock cycle in under 30 seconds. |
| Hybrid Burst | Holo Twister AR, Gatekeeper Shotgun, Void Oni Mask | AR sustains through lunges, shotgun bursts phases; mask provides throwable utility for eyes if Fire Mask unavailable. | Third-party proof by speed-grab ammo crates in arena, bait her outside, unload on vuln windows. |
Key Fight Tactics
Use cover against mask projectiles (they chunk 1/3 shields), knock her repeatedly to 50% HP before eye phases, and equip full shields/health via sprites or meds beforehand. Multiple guns prevent reload deaths during transitions. Pair with Night Rose Medallion post-win for endless ammo sustain in future fights.
Which weapons deal highest DPS against Night Rose
SMGs and shotguns deliver the highest DPS against Night Rose in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 due to her low initial health, teleporting patterns, and the need for rapid burst during vulnerable windows.
Top DPS Weapons
The Night Rose Veiled Precision SMG stands out with its blistering 10.3-10.4 fire rate, 20 base damage (35 crits), and 206 DPS, making it ideal for sustained pressure on her and the Oni Mask eyes. Sovereign or Gatekeeper Shotguns excel in phase one for quick headshot knuckdowns, shredding her weak early HP pool before mask phases trigger.
| Weapon | DPS/Strength | Best Phase | Pairing Tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Night Rose Veiled Precision SMG (Mythic) | 206 DPS, hitscan accuracy | All (eyes + body) | Night Rose Medallion for zero downtime |
| Sovereign/Gatekeeper Shotgun | High burst (one-shot potential) | Phase 1 knockdowns | Follow with SMG for eyes |
| Holo Twister AR | Sustained mid-range | Transitions | Backup for mask projectiles |
Usage Strategy
Prioritize Mythic SMG if looted mid-fight; unload on eyes immediately post-knockout from cover to avoid mask blasts, repeating cycles for sub-30-second kills. Reload multiple weapons pre-fight or grab her medallion early for auto-reload synergy.
