What Are Kicks in Fortnite?
Kicks in Fortnite are stylish footwear cosmetics that let players customize their character’s appearance with unique designs and color options. They function as part of the outfit system, allowing different shoes to be paired with compatible skins for a personalized look. Each pair of Kicks can feature distinct styles inspired by real and fictional designs, adding more variety to character customization.
Kicks in Fortnite are basically custom shoes that you can add to your Fortnite outfits. Think of them as another way to make your character stand out in the game, just like you would with skins or emotes. Epic Games is partnering with real-world brands like Nike and Jordan, along with creating their own original Fortnite shoe designs.

How to Get Kicks in Fortnite
Kicks can be obtained through different methods in Fortnite, such as purchasing them from the Item Shop when available, earning them through specific events, or receiving them as rewards in limited-time promotions. Players should keep an eye on the in-game store rotation and official Fortnite announcements to catch new releases or collaborations. Some Kicks may also appear in bundles that include matching outfits or accessories, providing an easy way to expand your customization options.
1. Through the Remix Pass (Battle Pass)
If you’re looking to get the Air Jordan featuring black, white, and red colors, you’ll need to own the Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix Battle Pass, which costs 950 V-Bucks. Once you have the pass, complete both Week Zero and Week One Quests to unlock these shoes. You can find them on the Dynamo TNTina quest pages. This is the most cost-effective way to get your first pair of Kicks if you already plan on getting the Battle Pass.
2. From the Item Shop
If you prefer more variety or don’t want to get the Battle Pass, you can visit the Item Shop. Starting November 21, you’ll find these releases:

Can Fortnite Kicks Be Used With All Outfits?
Not all Kicks are compatible with every outfit in Fortnite. Some footwear options are tied to specific skins, meaning you can only use them with certain characters or outfits. Others fall under the “universal” category, allowing players to mix and match them freely with various looks. Checking item descriptions in the Locker before equipping ensures that your chosen Kicks fit perfectly with your outfit.
Right from the start, you’ll be able to use Kicks with over 500 of the most popular Fortnite outfits. And it gets better – Epic Games is working hard to make Kicks compatible with about 95% of all outfits by Spring 2025! We can expect to see more brand collaborations, unique designs, and possibly even special event-themed shoes in the future
Which outfits are currently compatible with Kicks in Fortnite
Nearly all Fortnite outfits are compatible with Kicks as of early 2026.
Incompatible Outfits
Only three outfits remain incompatible: Philip J. Fry, Turanga Leela, and Bender Bending Rodríguez. Epic Games updated compatibility by March 25, 2025, to cover over 95% of outfits, later expanding to virtually every other one.
Verification Tips
Check your Locker’s “Kicks Usable” filter or the Item Shop’s usability button for owned outfits. Epic’s support page lists the exceptions directly.

To view only your owned outfits that support Kicks in Fortnite, open your Locker and apply the “Kicks Usable” filter in the Character tab.
In-Game Steps
Navigate to the main menu, select Locker, then choose the Character tab and click the filter icon at the bottom. Select “Kicks Usable” to display exclusively your compatible owned outfits-nearly all except Philip J. Fry, Turanga Leela, and Bender. Epic expanded support to over 95% of outfits by early 2025, covering most player collections.
Shop Verification
When browsing Kicks in the Item Shop, click the “Kicks Usability” button on any pair’s page. This shows a list of your specific owned outfits that can equip it, with a count of compatible ones.
