Guides

Liyue’s skies glow once again as Lantern Rite 2026 arrives, bringing new festive quests, limited events, and dazzling rewards for Travelers eager to mark the new year in style. From exclusive character trials to celebratory decorations, here’s what you need to know to make the most of this year’s celebration.

The Genshin Impact Lantern Rite 2026 event is finally upon us, named ‘A Lanternlit Ode to the Silver Moon’, and it brings a ton of things with it. Here is a quick guide to everything happening in the Genshin Impact Lantern Rite 2026 event.

When is the Genshin Impact Lantern Rite 2026?

The Lantern Rite 2026 in Genshin Impact runs from February 8 to February 22, 2026, featuring new seasonal festivities, limited-time characters, and celebratory rewards.

The Lantern Rite 2026 event will start on January 30, 2026, in Genshin Impact, which will be the second phase of Luna IV’s update. The event will end on February 23, ending at the same time as the Luna IV version, so make sure to collect all the rewards by then.

Genshin Impact Lantern Rite 2026 Characters

The Lantern Rite 2026 event spotlights returning Liyue heroes like Xiao, Hu Tao, and Ganyu alongside newcomers from Fontaine and Natlan. Players meet familiar faces such as Keqing and Ningguang in festival quests, while special programs introduce Baizhu’s expanded role and a guest appearance by Navia. New skins for Yanfei and Yun Jin highlight cultural motifs, with voice lines and stories tying into Liyue’s traditions. These characters drive minigames, riddles, and story branches for richer participation.

This time, Genshin Impact Lantern Rite will only feature one new Liyue-specific character, named Zibai. She is a new 5-star Geo character and is an Adeptus connected to the Moon. With the moon facing danger in Nod-Krai, she has finally descended back to Teyvat and Liyue and may play a role in the Nod-Krai Archon quest.

Other than Zibai, we are also going to have Columbina and Illuga feature in the Genshin Impact Luna IV banners. Illuga will feature next to Zibai, but he is a Nod-Krai-specific character. You can learn about Zibai’s kit, Columbina’s kit, and Illuga’s kit from our guides.

Genshin Impact Lantern Rite 2026 Rewards

The Genshin Impact Lantern Rite 2026 offers players a range of rewards through its limited-time activities. Complete daily commissions and event challenges to claim Primogems, Mora, and Hero’s Wit. Participate in the fireworks display minigame for exclusive namecards and skins, while the guess-the-lantern puzzle grants talent upgrade materials. Liyue-themed furnishings and weapons round out the prizes, available until the event closes on February 1.

The 2026 Lantern Rite event in Genshin Impact will bring a ton of rewards like always, including giving away free characters and character skins. Here are all the rewards you can get in the Genshin Impact Lantern Rite 2026 event:

Free 4-star Liyue Character

Once again, every Genshin Impact player who will play the Lantern Rite 2026 event will be able to obtain a free 4-star Liyue character of their choice. Players will be able to choose among the following characters: Xingqiu, Gaming, Beidou, Chongyun, Lan Yan, Ningguang, Xiangling, Yaoyao, Yanfei, Yun Jin, and Xinyan.

Although it’s your personal choice to pick the character you prefer, I would recommend going for either Xingqiu or Xiangling. Both of these characters rank in the S-tier in our Genshin Impact tier list, making them one of the best characters in the game.

Check-in and In-Mail Rewards

By logging in daily, players will be able to obtain a total of 10 Intertwined Fates during the Lantern Rite event. Other than that, they will also obtain 1,600 Primogems directly in their in-game mailbox. So, in total, players will be getting 20 free premium pulls for the Lantern Rite 2026 event.

Free Yaoyao and Traveler Skins

Genshin Impact players will also be able to obtain a free skin for Yaoyao, named Rainlit Bamboo Reverie, by playing through the event in the Lantern Rite. This reward can only be obtained after you complete the challenges in the 2026 Lantern Rite event in Genshin Impact.

The Traveler siblings would also get new outfits in Luna IV for free after completing the True Moon Archon quest. The new Traveler outfit will also buff them based on the elements you have resonated with in the game.

Other than Yaoyao’s and Traveler’s skins, a new Neuvillette skin would also become available for a discount in the shop after the Luna IV update.

Genshin Impact Lantern Rite 2026 Challenges

The Lantern Rite 2026 challenges in Genshin Impact offer players a series of tasks tied to Liyue’s festive traditions. Complete daily goals like lighting specific lanterns, solving riddles at harbors, and teaming up for fireworks displays to earn rewards such as Primogems, Mora, and exclusive event items. These activities scale with your Adventure Rank, with higher difficulties unlocking rarer materials and achievements. Participate before the event ends to claim all bonuses and contribute to the communal Rite score.

The Lantern Rite 2026 event would also bring a ton of challenges or sub-events where players can enjoy and earn more rewards. Here are all the challenges you will find in the Lantern Rite 2026 event:

  • Xiao Lanterns: Players can obtain Xiao Lanterns and use them to send gifts or messages to their in-game friends. The Xiao Lanters can drift into other players’ worlds, making it the perfect surprise.
  • Fortune Coins: During the Lantern Rite 2026 event, Liyue Harbour will be filled with the Auspiciosus Treasure Trees. Hit these trees repeatedly to collect Fortune Coins in the game.
  • Collecting Jade Minigame: One of the fun minigames in Lantern Rite 2026 will have players reach from one end to the other in a 2D side-scroller view. Players will have to collect Jades along the way, while avoiding floating lanterns.
  • Battle Enemies to Earn Coins: Players will also find enemies in this event, which they will have to defeat to obtain charm coins.

Best way to claim all Lantern Rite login rewards fast

To claim all Lantern Rite login rewards quickly, you just need to log in on the required days and use the in-game mail and event menus efficiently. The key is not missing any login days within the event window.

Know which login events matter

  • Lantern Rite 2026 uses a 7-day login event (e.g., “Fortune’s Coming – Daily Login Event”) that grants 10 Intertwined Fates and other materials when you log in across seven separate days during the period.

  • There is also Lantern Rite celebration mail that sends Primogems during January 30 – February 23, 2026, which you must open and claim before the mail expires.

Fast claiming steps (daily routine)

  • Log in once per day during the login event period; you do not need to stay online long, just long enough to reach the menus.

  • Open the Paimon menu, go to “Events,” select the Lantern Rite login event (e.g., “May Fortune Find You / Fortune’s Coming”), and click the highlighted day’s reward to claim it.

  • Then open the Mail icon from the same menu, locate any Lantern Rite gift mails, and press “Claim All” to grab Primogems and attached rewards instantly.

Avoid missing rewards

  • Check that you have logged in on at least seven different days before the event ends so all login tiles are unlocked and claimed.

  • Make sure to claim rewards before the login page and celebration mails disappear; some mails auto-delete after 30 days, and unclaimed attachments are then lost.

Extra primogems on top

  • Combine login rewards with daily commissions and any concurrent Lantern Rite minigame runs to stack more Primogems passively while you are already logging in.

  • If short on time, prioritize: log in → claim event login reward → claim mail → (optionally) do quick commissions; this keeps you on track for the full 10 free pulls and Primogems with minimal playtime.

What are all Lantern Rite 2026 minigames and points needed

Lantern Rite 2026’s main festival event, “A Lanternlit Ode to the Silver Moon,” uses one shared progression track (often called Festive Fever/Festive Points) plus several event currencies from different minigames; the key breakpoint is 1,200 Festive Fever for the free Liyue 4-star. Exact point thresholds for every minor reward tier have not been fully published yet, but the major milestones are known.

Main event minigames

  • Jade-collecting dodge stage: A timed game where you avoid floating lanterns and collect as many Jades as possible, awarding a currency (often called Charm or Jade Coins) that converts into Mingxiao Lanterns and Festive Fever.

  • Combat coin challenge: A battle mode where you defeat waves of enemies or light Xiao Lanterns to gain Charm Coins; higher scores give more Festive Fever and shop currency per clear.

  • Shutterflash Memory Hunt & Moonlit Patrol Exercise: Side events around the same patch that feed into the Lantern Rite currency/point system, giving Primogems and Festive Fever when their stages are cleared at least once.

Overworld activities

  • Xiao Lanterns: Crafted and released lanterns that can drift into other players’ worlds; these mostly give small rewards and a bit of event progression rather than large point chunks.

  • Auspicious Treasure Trees: Special trees in Liyue Harbor that drop Fortune Coins when struck; those convert into Mingxiao Lanterns and thus indirectly into more event shop purchases.

Point / progression requirements

  • Festive Fever: Around 1,200 Festive Fever points are needed to unlock the free 4-star Liyue character selector; this is the key goal for most players.

  • Event shop currency: Mingxiao Lanterns are earned from all minigames and trees; the total cap is tuned so that clearing each minigame’s stages once and doing some repeats lets you buy the important shop items (Crown, Fates, core books) without 100% grinding every small challenge.

How to reach 1,200 points efficiently

  • Do every main event quest and each minigame stage at least once; these one-time clears give most of the Festive Fever and are far more efficient than low-score repeats.

  • After first-time clears, repeat whichever combat or jade-collecting stage you perform best in to finish off any remaining Festive Fever needed for the 1,200 breakpoint and to farm enough Mingxiao Lanterns for priority shop items.

Because the game UI will show the exact Festive Fever numbers per stage and the full milestone list once Lantern Rite goes live on your server, checking the event panel in-game will give the most precise per-tier point values.
