Spooky seeds are sprouting in Roblox’s Grow a Garden as the Dead Tree Quests bring eerie surprises, rare loot, and limited-time rewards to every ambitious gardener this Halloween.
Completing the Dead Tree quests rewards you with some exclusive Halloween-themed items like the Spooky Eggs, Halloween Gear Box, sprinklers, and more. In this guide, learn how to complete the Dead Tree quests in Grow a Garden and what rewards you can get here.
How to Complete Grow a Garden Dead Tree Quests
To complete the Grow a Garden Dead Tree quests, first interact with the event NPC near the spooky garden area to accept your tasks. Most quests involve collecting cursed seeds, watering dead saplings, and defeating ghostly pests that appear around the garden. As you progress, watch for glowing roots-these mark quest objectives. Completing each stage rewards you with event currency, decorations, and rare plant materials needed for seasonal crafting. Return to the NPC after finishing all steps to claim the final reward and see your garden restored.
The Dead Tree spawns in the central area of the Lobby every 2 hours during the Grow a Garden Halloween Event. After the update, you might sometimes see the Witch there instead – that’s because the Witch and the Dead Tree take turns spawning every hour. If the Witch shows up first and stays for an hour, the next time, the Dead Tree appears, and they keep alternating like that.
So, once this is clear to you and the Dead Tree has spawned, go close to it and press the ‘E‘ key to interact. This pops up a window, displaying a set of three quests on the upper half. These quests can be any of the following list of tasks:
- Harvest 10 Vamp Plants
- Grow a Bat to age 10
- Consume 6 bowls of Suspicious Soup
- Travel 1000 studs with a Witch’s Broom
- Harvest 5 Pumpkins
- Harvest 10 Ghostly Plants
- Open 3 Halloween Gear Boxes
- Consume 7 bowls of Suspicious Soup
To be eligible for rewards, simply complete the specified tasks. The 1-hour timer on top of the window displays how long the Dead Tree will be present in the game. Once the time goes off, and the tree goes away, the three tasks will refresh, and you’ll have to start again in the next iteration. Alternatively, you can choose to click on the yellow colored Skip Quests button on the top right to spend 59 Robux and claim the rewards directly.

Best strategies to finish Dead Tree quests quickly
Preparation Tactics
Stockpile key items before the Dead Tree appears, such as Pumpkin Crates, Spooky Crates, Spooky Eggs, Suspicious Soups, and Halloween Gear Boxes, to instantly complete related quests without waiting. Maintain a ready supply of Bloodred Mushroom seeds by reclaiming and replanting them, along with Pumpkins, Corn, and Jack O’ Lanterns for quick harvesting and selling tasks. Pre-grow pets like Pumpkin Rats or Bats close to Age 7, and position crates or eggs in your garden for immediate access during the 1-hour timer.
Fast Quest Completion
Prioritize simple quests like Water 30 Plants, Feed 15 Pets, Harvest 10 Corn, Sell 25 Corn, or Earn 500,000 Sheckles, which take only minutes with a stocked garden. Use auto-clickers during the Tree’s 4-hour window (every 8-hour cycle) to speed up repetitive actions like watering or feeding, and deploy helpers like Ghost Bears, wolves, or T-Rex for mutations (Spooky, Vamp, Moonlit). For travel quests, keep Witch’s Brooms equipped; join servers filling the Witch Cauldron for free Vamp weather to boost mutations without effort.
Optimization Tips
Skip tough quests (e.g., Spend 50 Candy Corn due to hourly shop limits) by monitoring Tree spawn alerts in-game or Discord, then act instantly on easy sets. Complete multiple cycles by tracking progress and avoiding harvests until mutations finish, maximizing rewards like Candy Corn or Weeping Branch seeds before the event ends. If stuck, spend 59 Robux to skip, but preparation lets free players chain 8+ completions daily.

Stockpile Essentials
Stock up on Pumpkin Crates, Spooky Crates, Spooky Eggs, Suspicious Soups, and Halloween Gear Boxes ahead of time to instantly complete opening or hatching quests when the Dead Tree appears.
