Fortnite Hammerhead Choppa Locations Chapter 6 Season 4 Guide for Helicopter Spots

Guides

Fortnite Hammerhead Choppa Locations: Chapter 6 Season 4 hides its fastest escapes in plain sight, but only if you know where to look.

Where to Find Hammerhead Choppa in Fortnite

Hammerhead Choppas spawn at O.X.R. outposts and related sites across the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 map, with fixed spots including O.X.R. HQ north of the island center, an Infested Outpost northwest of Supernova Academy, another north of Outpost Enclave, and one north of Canyon Crossing. Check large octagonal helipads at these O.X.R. Bases, as five units appear each match with reliable spawn rates. Arrive early to claim one before other players, since they hold five seats for squads but lack onboard weapons-passengers handle combat.

There are multiple Hammerhead Choppa in the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 map. While they are a guaranteed spawn, finding them while surviving the bug infestation can be hard. Here are the known locations where you will find the Hammerhead Choppas:

  • Northern gas station of O.X.R. HQ.
  • East of Supernova Academy.
  • North of Outpost Enclave.

How to Use the Hammerhead Choppa

To use the Hammerhead Choppa, approach any parked version on the map and press the interact button to enter the pilot seat. Accelerate with forward thrust while keeping altitude steady using the up/down controls, and activate boost for quick bursts of speed. Fire the forward-facing machine gun by holding the shoot button-aim at ground targets or vehicles for maximum damage. Switch to passenger seats if riding with squadmates, who can man side guns. Land smoothly by reducing thrust and descending gradually to avoid flipping.

Once you find the Hammerhead Choppa, using it is as simple as it gets. First, go near the choppa and press the interact button (E key on PC) to enter it. This will allow you to control the Choppa. Now, use the movement buttons to give the choppa directional inputs.

To fly up in the Hammerhead Choppa, hit the fire button, and to go down, use the aim button. The choppa is mid in terms of speed, so there’s a boost option. Hold the boost key (left shift on PC) to pick up speed. You can follow the yellow boost bar to know when the speed-up fuel is low.

The Choppa also comes with a Loudspeaker, which is completely useless in combat but perfect if you want to blast tunes while your squad handles the fighting.

The Hammerhead Choppa in Fortnite is more of a party vehicle. It does not have any blasters or guns attached. As there is a switch seats option, it is clearly made for the parties who love invading enemies as a squad, like Power Rangers.

Which Hammerhead Choppa spawn spots are safest to land first

The safest Hammerhead Choppa spawns are generally the ones farthest from the initial battle bus path and big-name POIs, especially the O.X.R. Bases near Outpost Enclave and Canyon Crossing and the Infected/bug outposts near Supernova Academy.

Safest spawn priorities

  • O.X.R. Base north of Canyon Crossing

    • Usually draws fewer early drops than O.X.R. HQ because it is off-center and has less overall traffic.

    • Good loot density nearby lets you grab a gun and shields before pushing the helipad, making third-party fights less likely.

  • O.X.R. Base north of Outpost Enclave

    • Tends to be quieter than central HQ unless the bus path passes directly overhead.

    • Has a clear line of sight to the helipad so you can scout for other players before committing to the Choppa.

  • Infected Outpost northwest of Supernova Academy

    • Slightly risky due to bug events, but safer than landing in the academy itself, which is a high-traffic POI.

    • If you land a bit away, loot first, then rotate to the pad once the initial lobby thins out.

  • O.X.R. HQ (multiple Choppas)

    • Has the most Choppas but is the least safe first drop: central, highly contested, and part of weekly quest routes.

    • Better used as a mid-game rotate if you survived your first POI.

How to make any spot safer

  • Land slightly off-site

    • Drop near but not directly on the helipad, grab a chest or floor loot first, then rotate in with a weapon and some builds.

  • Read bus path

    • If the bus runs directly over O.X.R. HQ, favor a side O.X.R. base or an Infected Outpost far from the line.

  • Watch the sky and audio

    • If you see 2-3 teams heading for the same O.X.R. base, peel to the next nearest Choppa spawn or pivot the match to ground vehicles instead.

If you tell which game mode you play most (Zero Build vs Build, solos vs squads), a tailored “drop order” for the safest 2-3 routes can be suggested.

How to complete hit opponents from 50m in Hammerhead Choppa

To complete “hit opponents from/beyond 50 meters while in the Hammerhead Choppa,” you need to use your own weapon from the seats, not the helicopter itself, and make sure the target is at least ~50m away in-game.

Basic setup

  • Get a Hammerhead Choppa and a reliable ranged gun

    • Any AR or accurate SMG works; avoid slow single-shot weapons since you just need hits, not eliminations.

    • Make sure you have enough ammo before taking off so you can tag multiple targets in one flight.

  • Get into a shooting seat

    • The Choppa has no built-in gun; you must switch seats from pilot to passenger/middle seat to fire your own weapon.

    • On PC this is usually by pressing the “change seat” key (often Left Ctrl/”Swap Seat”), on controller the right stick/seat-swap button.

Easiest way to get 50m distance

  • Farm bugs/aliens or NPC opponents

    • Bug/alien enemies and similar AI count as “opponents” for the quest, so you do not need to fight only real players.

    • Hover your Choppa above or slightly away from an active bug area or nearby AI, then swap seats and shoot from a distance.

  • Use the minimap distance indicator

    • Ping the ground or an enemy near where you’ll shoot; if the ping shows 50m+ you are at the right range.

    • Stay relatively stationary in the air (or move slowly) to keep your aim steady at that distance.

Step-by-step method (very safe)

  1. Land at a quieter O.X.R. base, loot AR/SMG and shields, then grab the Hammerhead Choppa.

  2. Fly to a known bug/alien spawn or PvE hotspot and hover high enough that enemies are roughly 50-70m away horizontally/diagonally.

  3. Swap from pilot seat to a passenger seat while still in the air.

  4. Aim down sights and tap-fire at bugs/AI or distracted players until hit markers register from that distance; repeat until the quest counter completes.

Extra tips

  • Fly slightly away, then turn and shoot back at enemies so the distance is clearer and you are not directly above them.

  • Use tap-fire or short bursts, not full spray, to control recoil at longer ranges.

  • If you keep missing, fly a bit closer, tag them once to check distance, then back off to just over 50m and hit them again.
