The stage ends once all the companions have reached the end line. However, sometimes you will have to follow a order for the companions to reach the end line. For example, if Akamai reaches the endline first in stage 1, it only blocks the path for Kau Kau. So, you must make Kau Kau reach the endline and then follow up with Akamai to complete the stage puzzle.
