Pet Mutations
Pet Mutations introduce a new layer of gameplay, allowing players to combine pets to create unique variants with enhanced traits and appearances. Each mutation offers different stat boosts and abilities, making every pet combination feel distinct. Players can experiment to find rare or powerful outcomes, giving more purpose to collecting and breeding pets across the garden.

Which pets are best to mutate first in Grow a Garden
Prioritize mutating pets with powerful plant mutation abilities first in Grow a Garden, as they amplify crop value and garden efficiency. Community consensus highlights top picks based on mutation strength, synergy, and rarity.
Top Mutations
Mutate Mimic Octopus first for its top-ranked ability to copy strong mutations from other pets, spreading high-value buffs across plants. Reaper and T-Rex follow closely; Reaper excels in endgame boosts, while T-Rex randomly spreads rare mutations like Disco for widespread value spikes.
Strong Runners-Up
-
Queen Bee: Applies 3x sell value mutations rapidly and refreshes cooldowns when paired with higher-cooldown pets like T-Rex for looping effects.
-
Disco Bee: Delivers 125x sell value boosts every 20 minutes, transforming income despite low drop rates.
-
Chicken Zombie: High-chance 25x Zombified mutation on short cooldown ensures consistent crop multipliers.
Mutation Tips
Only level 50+ pets qualify for the Mutation Machine (500M cost, 1-hour process, skippable for 49). Focus resources like Lollipops on these elites before rarer ones like Sugar Gliders, as their passives yield immediate garden gains.
Which mutation effects should I prioritize for early gardens
For early gardens in Grow a Garden on Roblox, prioritize mutation effects that offer reliable multipliers and frequent triggers to boost crop sales quickly. These accessible mutations help new players scale income without rare events or high-level pets.
Top Early Mutations
Pollinated (3x multiplier) stands out as the best starter due to hourly Bee Swarm events and common bee pets applying it consistently. Sandy (3x) follows, easily obtained from Sandstorm weather for steady gains on basic crops.
Reliable Runners-Up
-
Zombified (25x): Chicken Zombie pet applies it every 30 minutes with good odds, transforming low-value plants into big earners despite event-limited availability.
-
Moonlit (2x): Night cycles or Laser Storm events provide this purple glow boost reliably for nighttime farming.
-
Bloodlit (4-5x): Blood Moon events or Kappa pets on wet crops deliver red mist effects during predictable cycles.
Progression Tips
Plant dense crops and use sprinklers to maximize exposure during weather windows like Bee Swarms or Sandstorms. Avoid chasing ultra-rares like Void Touched (135x) early, as they demand advanced setups; stack these basics on high-yield starters like Dragon Fruit for rapid progression.
