Castle Location in Dead Rails
The castle in Dead Rails is found beyond the desert area, past the broken train tracks that stretch north from the central station. Players must follow the rail line until they reach a large stone gate guarded by NPC soldiers. The entrance sits on a cliff overlooking the canyon, making it visible from a distance. Inside, narrow corridors lead to the main courtyard where loot chests and key quest items are usually located.
The Castle is located very close to the 40,000-meter checkpoint in Dead Rails. However, before you even dream of being close to it, we strongly suggest you gather all the gear and weapons you can. This can be done by stopping by all previous buildings and checkpoints and stockpiling as much as you can. This is because the Castle will contain a huge number of Vampires and Werewolves.
The Castle comprises five rooms: the Main Hall, Dining Room, Library, Storage Room, and Coffin Room. We will begin by targeting the Coffin Room since it contains the Vampire Knife, which will be useful during the raid.

How to Loot The Castle in Dead Rails
Looting the castle in Dead Rails requires timing, awareness, and good coordination. Enter through side passages to avoid the main guards, then check treasure rooms for chests and rare items. Use stealth skills to stay unnoticed and move quietly between corridors. If you trigger alarms, retreat quickly to a hiding spot until things calm down. Collect loot carefully, since dropping too much weight can slow your escape. Once you have gathered enough items, head to the nearest exit to secure your haul safely.
When you view the castle, visit the checkpoint near it and buy all the necessary items, including a few bottles of Snake Oil, a Rifle, ammo for your gun, Holy Water, or even armor up yourself. Additionally, I would recommend raiding this area during the day to avoid any zombies or other monsters spawning and interrupting you.
Once you’re ready, head towards the Castle and just before you enter, drink two bottles of snake oil to boost your speed and health regeneration speed. Now, follow the steps given below to clear the whole building within a few minutes:
1. Lure the Vampires and Kill Them First
- Enter the castle, head straight, and go up the stairs on your right to reach the Coffin Room.
- Now, take the knife from inside the Coffin and run outside as soon as possible, avoiding any conflicts.
- Now, the Vampires will start spawning. They can even directly spawn near you and beat you to death.
- Use your Rifle or the Vampire Knife to kill these vampires. The best thing about this knife is that it has a life-stealing passive that activates whenever you hit any enemy.
3. Take on the Werewolves
- Now that you have killed the Vampires, head to the entrance and peek inside for a few seconds to provoke the Werewolves.
- The moment they start chasing you, rush outside the castle and continue shooting them.
- A good thing is that the Werewolves will get stuck at the main door due to their tall figure, so keep firing away.
- Once the monsters stop spawning, enter the castle and explore the rooms for a while. Nonetheless, be cautious at all times.
- When you hit the last enemy and they stop spawning, you can loot the whole building.
One of the most critical tricks here is to take the battle outside the castle, where you have better mobility. Moreover, you must use the small doors to entrap the werewolves and shoot them from a range.

Solo raiding the Castle in Dead Rails demands precise preparation and enemy management around the 40km mark. Approach during daylight near a safe zone checkpoint to restock and avoid night spawns like zombies. Use a horse for kiting, Rifle for range, Shotgun for close threats, and plenty of Snake Oil.

Step 1: Lure and Clear Outside
Approach the Castle entrance on horseback while hugging outer walls to trigger spawns. Back away as combat music starts-werewolves and vampires chase out. Shoot werewolves in the head with Rifle from distance; Shotgun vampires teleporting behind you. Repeat wall-hugging laps until no more enemies emerge and music stops.
Step 2: Secure Entrance
Place Metal Sheet in the main doorway (not wall gap) to block werewolves. Lure stragglers inside, trap them, then blast with Molotovs/Holy Water. Use Crucifixes for instant kills and Snake Oil to heal mid-fight. Confirm area clear by circling once more.
Step 3: Loot Rooms Safely
