Fortnite Moments capture short video clips of your best in-game plays, from epic kills to creative builds, using the built-in recording tool. Players activate it with a simple key press during matches, saving up to 60 seconds of footage automatically. These clips highlight personal triumphs and can feature in-game cosmetics like skins or emotes, letting you share standout performances directly from the game. Access your collection anytime in the lobby to edit or upload to platforms like YouTube or TikTok.
Put simply, Fortnite Moments is a new type of in-game cosmetic that has been added in the latest Chapter 6 Season 2 update. Added as another way to express yourself, moments are simply Fortnite Jam Tracks you can play during certain moments of the game. These are:
- Intro Music Moments: Music that plays when you jump off the Battle Bus
- Celebration Music: Music that plays when you earn a Victory Royale
Players can load up and set their existing tracks in these Fortnite moments and can use them during the above scenarios. However, you should know that these moments will only play for the player and not for the entire server. How to Get and Use Fortnite Moments
You can get Fortnite Moments by capturing gameplay highlights through the in-game replay system or third-party recording tools. After recording, upload your clips to your linked Fortnite account or share them directly on supported platforms to showcase your favorite plays. These Moments can also be used to personalize your profile, create themed compilations, or share clips with friends to show progress and creative strategies during matches.
Getting Fortnite moments is as simple as going around and gathering more jam tracks. As veteran players will know, you can gather new jam tracks by purchasing them through the item shop or checking out the new Chapter 6 Season 2 Battle Pass.
Once you’ve gotten your hand on some sweet moments, follow the steps below to learn how to use them:
- Head to the Locker menu in the game
- Scroll down to the Music menu and select Moments.
- Once there, select Intro or Celebration music to open the menu
- Select your preferred jam track and head back
And that’s it! Your chosen track is also now your favorite Fortnite moment. You can repeat the steps above and keep changing your tune (quite literally).
How to set intro and celebration music step by step
Setting Intro Music
Open Fortnite and go to the main lobby, then select the Locker tab on the left side. Scroll down to the Music section at the bottom (near Lego Kits), and choose Moments to access your Jam Tracks or Lobby Music options. Select Intro Music, preview available tracks with the play button, pick your favorite owned track, and confirm to equip it for skydive playback.
Setting Celebration Music
From the same Locker > Music > Moments menu, select Celebration Music instead. Browse your unlocked Jam Tracks (from Battle Pass, Item Shop, or events), preview segments, and assign one to trigger after Victory Royales. Save changes; the track auto-plays only for you during wins, and you can swap anytime without V-Bucks cost.
Tips for Use
Tracks must be owned beforehand-new ones unlock weekly via passes or shop. Use random or shuffle if available for variety, and test in a match to hear during glide or post-win. Changes apply across modes instantly.

Launch Fortnite and enter the main lobby screen. Select the Locker tab from the left sidebar icons.
