What’s New in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2?
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 arrives with the Lawless update, bringing a Wild West theme packed with outlaws, sheriffs, and train heists across revamped maps. New weapons like revolvers and dynamite sticks shake up combat, while Mythic abilities from boss characters add high-stakes showdowns. Vehicle chases ramp up the action, and limited-time modes test squad strategies in dusty frontier battles. Expect crossovers with cowboy icons and fresh loot drops to keep matches unpredictable.
As of now, we know the aesthetic world of Japan in Fortnite is going away, and replacing it in Season 2 will be a gritty, crime-driven city. The Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 trailer already revealed the primary focus of the new season. While heists, thefts, and crime take center stage, we will see Mortal Kombat characters such as Sub-Zero debut in the game (with his mythic ice gauntlets).
The trailer is mostly focusing on the new NPC and battle pass skins. However, we also briefly examine all the new weapons in the game. This includes Pipe Bombs, Drills, and Cutting Lasers. While we cannot confirm if these items are coming as weapons, we can guarantee that Fortnite Theft Auto is here with the new season.
As for the new area, Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 first look revealed that Crime City will be a part of the new map. This means all the flower fields and mountains are fading away as armored trains and bank vaults replace them. Toward the end of the trailer, we also see a large crime syndicate mansion. We will discover it all when Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 starts on February 21, 2025.

Which weapons are Exotic versus Mythic this season
In Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2: Lawless, Mythic weapons are enhanced upgrades of base weapons with boosted stats, often dropped by bosses, while Exotic weapons feature unique effects or mechanics and are found at specific vendors or POIs.
Mythic Weapons
These are direct power-ups of standard variants:
-
Enhanced Collateral Damage AR (area damage boost).
-
Enhanced Outlaw Shotgun (improved fire rate/damage).
-
Falcon Eye Sniper (piercing precision upgrade).
-
Striker Burst Rifle (rapid burst mythic).
-
Enhanced Fury Assault Rifle or similar AR mythics from bosses.
Exotic Weapons
These have special traits like healing, impulses, or alt-fire:
-
Baron’s Double Down Pistol (dual-wield with unique spread).
-
Pump and Dump (shotgun/SMG hybrid).
-
Lawless Hoprock SMG (Slap-buff mobility).
-
Lawless Slap Cannon (heals on hit), Lawless Shockwave Rocket Launcher (knockback), Lawless Trinity AR (triangle burst).
-
Eradicator Hop Rock Fury AR (exotic Hop Rock variant).
Key Distinctions
Mythics excel in raw stats for direct combat superiority, while Exotics trade some power for utility like crowd control or sustain. Both are limited per match, with some overlap in Lawless theme (e.g., heist-focused drops).
