Rerir “Rächer of Solnari” has stirred a storm among Genshin Impact fans-a mysterious figure tied to the Five Sinners whose presence hints at ancient vengeance, forbidden power, and a story the world of Teyvat may not be ready to face.
Who is Rerir in Genshin Impact?
Rerir, known as the Rächer of Solnari, ranks among the Five Sinners of Khaenri’ah and commands the Wild Hunt. A former Eclipse Dynasty agent tasked with eliminating Crimson Moon Dynasty survivors, he turned against his orders after targeting Tholindis, whose disappearance drove him to seize Abyssal power in a bid to pursue her across worlds. Post-Cataclysm, his shattered form manifests through Wild Hunt monsters and kuuvahki absorption, fueling an unrelenting lunar fixation that challenges Teyvat’s cosmic order.
Rerir is one of the Five Sinners of Khaenri’ah and the leader of The Wild Hunt. If you want to learn more about the Five Sinners, we have explained that later in the article. He is also known as Rächer of Solnari, and is supposedly the main antagonist of the Nod-Krai Archon quests. Rerir made his first appearance during the Genshin Impact Luna I Archon quest, with the title of Blasphemy Against Death.
So, why is a Sinner appearing in the story now, and why is he so weak? Columbina revealed that Rerir had always had a fixation with the moon. She also mentioned that Rerir had disappeared not long after the Cataclysm, and the tale of his fate mentioned that “he fell into the moon’s reflection from which there can be no return.” It was after Rerir’s disappearance that the Wild Hunt situation worsened in Nod-Krai.
Apparently, Rerir faced death at some point after the Cataclysm. And currently, his “image” is leading the Wild Hunt and not his true being. This image is more lethal and ferocious. But seeing that he should be immortal from Ronova’s curse, how did he die? Let’s find out in the next section.
Is Rerir Truly Dead in Genshin Impact?
Rerir’s status remains shrouded in mystery as fans await definitive confirmation, leaving room for speculation about whether Rächer of Solnari truly meets his end or lingers as a spectral presence within the Five Sinners’ saga.
Rerir is not truly dead. According to his real self that appeared in the Luna I Archon Quest, his body was torn into countless pieces and hurled into the swirling chaos of time itself, but his life was not extinguished.
This means that Rerir’s body is still alive, which is the “image” that faced the Traveler. However, his mind or soul has broken down from the “chaos of time” and has taken on a new personality. As the Traveler foiled the Wild Hunt’s plan of a complete return of Rerir, it is revealed that he only has ten percent of his original strength at the moment.
Who Are The Five Sinners in Genshin Impact?
The Five Sinners are a legendary cadre from Khaenri’ah who seized a fragment of the Abyssal power after betraying their homeland, with Rerir the Rächer of Solnari among them. Their fate intertwines with the fall of Khaenri’ah, the Abyss, and looming threats to Teyvat, shaping future lore and quests in Genshin Impact.
The five Sinners are five individuals who were considered the best of Khaenri’ah. These five had performed research on the Abyss, using its power under the Vinster King. They failed to resist the Abyss and divided a devastating power that could “destroy the world” among themselves. Also, it is rumored that this power was extracted from the bodies of the siblings.
This was part of the reason Ronova cursed the full-blooded Khaenri’ahns with immortality during the Cataclysm. Ironically, the five sinners did not come to defend Khaenri’ah during the Cataclysm, even though they caused it.
The five Sinners we know of are the following:
- “The Wise” Hroptatyr
- “The Visionary” Vedrfolnir
- “Gold” Rhinedottir
- “Foul” Surtalogi
- “Racher of Solnari” Rerir
Also, every Sinner supposedly shares a domain with the Genshin Impact Rulers. For example, Rhinedottir shares the domain of life with Naberius, Rerir shares the domain of death with Ronova, Vedrfolnir shares the domain of time with Istaroth, and Surtalogi share the domain of void with Asmoday. This leaves out Hroptatyr, who apparently shares the same domain as the Primordial.
What are Rerir’s confirmed abilities and attack patterns
Rerir, the Rächer of Solnari, showcases a range of Abyssal abilities in Genshin Impact’s Nod-Krai quests, primarily at 10% strength, focusing on shapeshifting, immortality, and combat hax. His attack patterns emphasize erratic, predatory strikes with rapid adaptation, mimicking foes while generating environmental hazards. Full power amplifies these to world-threatening levels, per lore statements.
Confirmed Abilities
Rerir’s core powers stem from stolen Abyssal energy and Ronova’s death curse, including:
-
Shapeshifting and Mimicry: Perfectly impersonates targets like Lightkeeper Sousi or Flins, enabling infiltration and deception.
-
Immortality (Types 1, 2, 5): Survives fragmentation, reforms from pieces, and resists conventional death.
-
Reforming and Regeneration: Reassembles body via Wild Hunt fragments or kuuvahki absorption.
-
Other Hax: Teleportation, fog/vortex generation, superpower negation, arm manifestation, and seal destruction.
At higher tiers, he gains flight, lasers, summoning, explosions, and pocket dimension control.
Attack Patterns
In boss encounters like Starsand Shoal, Rerir uses multi-phase patterns blending melee and AoE:
-
Phase 1 (Phantom Form): Erratic spear thrusts, shockwaves, and binding tendrils; dodges via teleportation.
-
Phase 2 (Partial Reform): Volatile energy constructs, fog for ambushes, and replicated Traveler abilities.
-
Phase 3 (10% Power): Spike projections, energy limbs, aura bursts; overwhelms groups with FTL speed and planet-level durability.
Counters involve interrupting kuuvahki absorption and exploiting his mental instability. Full strength could solo Nod-Krai forces.
