Grow a Garden Zen Event Guide Quests Rewards Pets Stages Explained

Guides

Roblox’s Grow a Garden event invites players to cultivate calm and creativity, one seed at a time.

What Is the Zen Event in Grow a Garden?

In Grow a Garden, the Zen Event centers on calm, mindful gardening tasks that reward steady focus, patience, and balance. Players cultivate serene spaces, tend plants with deliberate care, and complete simple objectives that emphasize relaxation over speed, creating a tranquil, meditative gameplay rhythm.

Zen Aura is a new Grow a Garden weather event that occurs every 1 hour. Once it happens, the sky is filled with maple leaves and white cloud lines. The Zen Aura event runs for 10 minutes and sends a blue aura to the garden, applying the Tranquil mutation to random fruits.

But you don’t always need to be in the game or track your offline timer. You can find a timer behind the Unk Monk in the event hub to know when the next event starts.

New Tranquil Mutation in Grow a Garden

The new Tranquil Mutation adds a calm and meditative touch to your garden, blending soothing colors with gentle growth patterns. Players can nurture this plant type to create peaceful spaces filled with soft tones and quiet animations. It pairs beautifully with Zen-themed decorations, offering a relaxing atmosphere for those seeking harmony and balance during the event.

This new Grow a Garden mutation offers more than just a 20x sale value multiplier. In terms of looks, it applies a white bubble effect on a fruit with Japanese letters revealing from it. But that’s not all.

Once you have the Tranquil mutation applied to one of the crops, you can trade it for Chi Points or Zen. To get the mutation, you must stay active during the Zen Aura event, grab the Tanchozuru pet, or get a Tranquil mutation pet in your garden.

Zen Shop in Grow a Garden

The Zen Shop offers exclusive event-themed items that can enhance your garden’s peaceful atmosphere. Players can exchange Zen Tokens earned during the event for decorative pieces, furniture, or unique plants that fit the tranquil theme. Each purchase helps create a more relaxing and visually pleasing garden space while rewarding progress in the Zen event challenges.

The first place where you can use the Tranquil mutation fruits is the Zen Shop. But to use the shop, you will need Chi Points.

Chi Currency in Grow a Garden

Chi Points is the limited-time currency for the Zen Shop in the Grow a Garden Zen Event. Talk to the Zen Shop NPC in the hub and turn in your crops. You can either trade one plant or select the “Take all my Tranquil plants” option to trade all at once.

After the trade is complete, you will find the amount of Chi on the left side of your screen, above your Sheckles count. You can also get Chi Points for growing the Zen Tree (more on that later).

Zen Shop Items

You can get all the new items from the latest Zen Event shop with Chi Points. The shop is stocked with multiple new items, including new seeds, seed packs, eggs, and more. Furthermore, you can restock items using Sheckles, but to purchase items, you can only use Chi.

That said, here is a list of all the items you can find in the Zen Shop during the Zen Event on Grow a Garden.

Zen Seed Pack Unlock New Zen plants
Zen Egg Unlock New Zen pets

The shop restocks every 1 hour, but as you can see, some items in the shop are locked from the beginning. To unlock them, you must upgrade the Zen Event tree in Grow a Garden. That is where Unk the Monk comes in!

Unk the Monk and Zen Tree

Unk the Monk stands near the Zen Tree, guiding players through peaceful meditation tasks that bring calm energy to the event area. By tending to the Zen Tree’s glowing branches and completing Unk’s simple challenges, players earn Zen Points and rare garden items. Each stage of growth rewards focus and care, turning quiet moments into meaningful progress throughout the Grow a Garden Zen Event.

Zen is what helps you grow the tree behind Unk the Monk in the Zen Event hub. Simply go to the monk and submit your Tranquil fruits. By submitting Tranquil fruits to Unk the Monk, you can get Zen and complete the bar above him. Zen value is also tied to the rarity of the plant, similar to Chi value. Each time you complete the bar, the tree behind him grows.

With every level unlocked, you will have a new item available in the Zen Shop. But that’s not all. Each level also gives you Zen Seed packs, Chi, crates, and Zen Pet Eggs as rewards. So, growing the tree is important. Especially, if you want that Spiked Mango or Tranquil mutation on your pet.

Best seeds to plant for maximum Chi gain

Sugar Apple and Moon Melon seeds stand out for maximum Chi gain in the Grow a Garden Zen Event due to their multi-fruit production, which boosts Tranquil mutation chances during hourly Zen Auras.

Top Seeds

  • Sugar Apple: Produces many fruits quickly, ideal for harvesting multiple Tranquil instances every 5 minutes with pets like T-Rex for spreading mutations; easy to farm and highly recommended for consistent Chi.

  • Moon Melon: Yields multiple Tranquil fruits from one plant when paired with Moon Cats, enabling rapid Chi accumulation up to 2,000+ per session.

High-Rarity Focus

Prismatic and Transcendent seeds (e.g., Pine Cone, Beanstalk, Candy Blossom) maximize Chi per Tranquil fruit-yielding 7-8 Chi each-since rarer plants are prioritized for mutations over commons.
Fill your garden with these spaced out for easy spotting, avoiding overcrowding to guarantee high-value hits.

Strategy Tips

Plant 5+ of your best multi-fruit seeds, use growth-boosting pets like Triceratops (+33% tree growth), and submit Tranquil fruits to the Raccoon NPC for direct Chi instead of the Tree early on.
AFK overnight with a full high-rarity garden can net thousands of Chi, as mutations persist and spread.

How to get Tranquil mutation on plants

Tranquil mutations in Grow a Garden occur randomly on plants during the hourly Zen Aura weather event, transforming eligible crops into high-value variants marked by a glowing misty aura and floating kanji symbols.

Triggering Zen Aura

Zen Aura activates approximately every hour for about 10 minutes, altering the sky with floating flowers and waves while wisps strike random plants in your garden to apply the mutation-roughly one new Tranquil crop every 30 seconds.

Boosting Chances

  • Plant multi-fruit crops like Sugar Apple, Moon Melon, Bone Blossom, or Beanstalk, as they yield more harvestable instances per mutation and pair well with growth pets like Triceratops (+33% speed).

  • Deploy pets such as Tanchozuru (from Zen Eggs), which applies Tranquil every 24-25 minutes independently, or T-Rex to spread mutations across nearby fruits.

  • Place Tranquil Pet Shards in your plot for guaranteed periodic applications, and fill your garden with spaced-out high-rarity (Prismatic/Transcendent) seeds to prioritize valuable hits.

Harvest all plants during the event (hold E) and submit Tranquil fruits to the Tanuki or Zen Channeler for Chi, noting that Gold/Rainbow combos further increase yields.
