Genshin Impact Players Can Get Stunning New Traveler Outfit for Free, Here’s How
Genshin Impact’s Luna IV update hands players a free, enhanced Traveler outfit with striking new details. Log in during the event period to claim it instantly-no draws or payments required. Complete simple daily tasks like exploring domains or defeating bosses to max out its buffs, boosting combat stats right away. This stylish upgrade fits any playstyle, from casual adventures to tough Spiral Abyss runs.
Both Lumine and Aether, the male and female versions of the traveler, or more commonly known as siblings, will be getting a new outfit in Luna IV. The new outfit is free, and every Genshin Impact player can obtain it by completing the True Moon Archon Quest in Genshin Impact Luna IV. This new outfit won’t have an expiry date, meaning future players would also be able to obtain it by completing this quest.
Now, what makes this outfit special is that this new outfit would give Traveler new buffs based on the elements they have resonated with. So, Traveler would get more buffs based on how far they have come in the story. Here are the additional buff effects that this new outfit will provide:
- Anemo: Crit Rate increased by 20%.
- Geo: DEF increased by 20%.
- Electro: Energy Recharge increased by 20%.
- Dendro: Elemental Mastery increased by 60.
- Hydro: HP increased by 20%.
- Pyro: ATK increased by 20%.
- Cryo: Crit DMG increased by 20%.
Each element of the Traveler will also get new passives that will give additional effects. One such effect was revealed for the Pyro traveler. Here is what it says:
“When the nearby party members trigger Nighsoul Burst, the traveler will receive 1 Blade of the Sacred Flame stack. After obtaining 2 Blade of the Sacred Flame stacks, performing a Charged Attack will consume all Blade of the Sacred Flame stacks and transform it into the special Charged Attack: Inferno, dealing increased, Nightsoul-aligned, Pyro DMG.”
Hoyoverse also revealed the Cryo element for Traveler with this new buff reveal. The Traveler will obtain the Cryo element in Snezhnaya, which will be the next big region for Genshin Impact. With such big buffs being tied to the new outfit, it is clear that the developers want players to only wear this new outfit from now on.
How to unlock the True Moon Archon Quest step by step
To unlock the True Moon Archon Quest in Genshin Impact, you mainly need to clear the previous Nod-Krai story and meet some account requirements first. Once those are done, True Moon will appear automatically in your Archon Quest list and start right after Act VII.
Step 1 – Meet account requirements

Reach at least Adventure Rank 28 on your account.

Make sure you have access to the Nod-Krai region (you must have followed the main story far enough to unlock it via earlier Archon Quests).
Step 2 – Finish earlier Song of the Welkin Moon acts

Complete all previous acts in the “Song of the Welkin Moon” Archon Quest chain up through Act VI “Melting Moonlight in the Morning Mist.”

Progress through the Nod-Krai Archon line “A Traveler on a Winter’s Night” until you finish its final quest, “Tracing the Footsteps of the Past.”
Step 3 – Clear Act VII: A Traveler on a Winter’s Night

Play through all four phases of “A Traveler on a Winter’s Night”: Moonless Night, Where Our Time and Space Intersect, Tracing the Footsteps, and Teatime.

After you complete Teatime and its follow-up cutscenes, the game treats Act VII as finished; this is the key prerequisite for unlocking True Moon.
Step 4 – Start True Moon (Act VIII)

Once Act VII is done, the game automatically unlocks Act VIII “True Moon” in the Song of the Welkin Moon chapter; you do not need to accept it from an NPC manually.

Open your Quest menu → Archon Quests tab and select “True Moon” to start tracking it; a navigation marker will appear to guide you to the first objective.
Step 5 – Follow the quest to completion

Follow all marked objectives for “True Moon” (its internal parts include segments like “The First Sliver of Moonlight” and “Descending Moon”) until the final cutscene and epilogue finish.

After fully completing True Moon, you receive the Traveler’s outfit “As Heaven and Earth Are Made Anew” along with Primogems, EXP, and Mora as permanent rewards.
What are the exact prerequisites before True Moon unlocks
Before “True Moon” appears in your Archon Quest list, the key requirement is that you have fully finished the previous Nod-Krai Archon act “A Traveler on a Winter’s Night” (Act VII of Song of the Welkin Moon); once that act is cleared, True Moon (Act VIII) unlocks automatically. Beyond that, you only need to meet the general story and Adventure Rank requirements already needed to reach and play Act VII.
